Jan 26:
有几个中国年都没有回家，因为不打算跟酱缸教的忠实信徒浪费时间，还不如到处逛逛，这一天到达了深圳，和一个朋友进行了连续20个小时的philosophical conversation后休息了4个小时，之后又继续了15个小时左右，交谈的内容主要关于人生意义的探讨，自由软件哲学，复杂系统等话题，其实关于"人生意义"是个古老的题目，但这个题目人类谈论了2000多年还是没有"确切"的结论，虽然Shawn信稣哥，但这并不代表就可以以宗教作为借口来回避这一神圣而又永恒的话题。

Feb 4:
在HK为老婆购买了一台Macbook，也是Shawn第一次使用Macbook，苹果的产品很好的照顾了old school和new school黑客的需求，new school黑客可以直接使用xCode来完成对Mac OSX，iPhone，iPad应用程序的开发，old school黑客可以使用Traditional Unix Development Environment(包括GNU工具链)进行和在unix-like平台上一样的开发，其实Shawn为老婆买Macbook是因为一个教育计划，试想如果让她直接从习惯了N多年的WIN平台上转移到GNU系统上还是很困难，但Macbook可以作为一个buffer，Shawn建议她使用GIMP来替换以前在WIN平台下的PHOTOSHOP，GIMP是自由软件，所以也可以顺便谈谈自由软件运动的历史和哲学，最终到了10月份，老婆在思考了黑客生命，自由软件和她所在的行业(非计算机领域)的关系后决定，这台Macbook将是她的最后一台苹果产品，下一此买laptop肯定会装GNU/Linux。

Apr 29:
从2月到4月一直在思考技术的本质到底是什么，KK的What Technology Wants提供了很多参考，4月中旬辞职后开始快速的reviews最近几期的Phrack杂志，4月28日XX山上第一次攀岩后读到了关于利用SMM的rootkit，虽然不太能理解技术细节但至少确定了CPU也能中rootkit的可能性。这个月也发出了为一个old school的ezine---DNFWAH(DO NOT FUCK WITH A HACKER)编写文章的邀请，给Shawn所认识的computer hacker和generic hacker，虽然得到的回应不多，但总算是在5月份发布了Issue 1，发起这份ezine的目的很简单，就是提供一个old school风格分享生命的平台，你不一定需要在某个领域是所谓的"大牛"，但你的文章必须是你通过你的生命的一种体验hacking而成，这份ezine不是为了仅仅分享知识，把知识和生命的结合在一起的hacking才符合真正的黑客伦理。

May 3 --- Jul 27:
开始了新的工作，也是网络安全公司，之后的几个月的工作并不是太忙，闲暇时间继续着gaming的同时也总结了netfilter和NIC之间的关系，从4月份开始和cloud club的家伙们谈论云里雾里的"云计算"，关注这个的目的到不只是为了寻求商业机会，云计算作为一个大整合的平台就像黑洞一样吸收了几乎历史上所有的信息技术，Shawn认为云计算和另外的一个aha是有联系的：Ray Kurzweil的The Singularity is Near，科技的进化非常的迅猛，这个进化系统对于个人而言是什么？到底Shawn是仅仅感觉到恐惧就回避问题还是积极的拥抱新的技术，如果是前者那肯定不配做基督的门徒，因为这往往是酱缸教徒的选择，但如果是后者要做的选择更加的复杂，技术进化系统到今天已经非常庞大，而一个复杂系统仅仅了解其部分是根本无法搞明白本质的，但如果以所谓的整体论的方式来构建知识论的话，这已经远远超出了一个个体生命所能承载的极限，终极解决方案：社区。但如何构建强社区？神哲学，兄弟会，四层模型....太多的要素需要考虑，从Shawn懦弱的内心深处的提示是:give up。难道Shawn也应该和那个撒克逊的小朋友问同样一个问题：我是懦夫的原因是因为我的父亲是懦夫？难道该找一个借口：这么复杂的问题留给下一代?去他妈的，Shawn都无法办到的事情怎么好意思厚颜无耻的让下一代去完成...

Sept 5:
生活如果一天没有aha简直要让Shawn窒息，如果每时每刻都有aha的wired-in状态那该多好，往往日常生活乏味的出奇，随着对奇点的了解，好像每天如果不来点关于GNR的信息就浑身不自在，或许这是今年在solidot上发的新闻报道最多的一年的原因。9月也参加了软件自由日的成都站，来的人不是很多，但来的家伙都对自由软件充满了热情；软件自由日当天购买了Xbox 360和Kinect，之后的几个月的gaming几乎从PC平台搬到game console上了。2005年，M$发布Xbox 360的时候，Shawn当时预测Xbox360的下一代主机之后游戏的画质会变得更接近真实，这一代的游戏主机把大部分的硬件资源都消耗在图形处理上了，AI方面显得过于薄弱，今年的所有大作里Shawn只认为2部FPS游戏在画质上有质的飞跃:基于id tech 5的Rage和战地3。

Oct 3:
到达雪山脚下，hiking的路程并没有太远，更多的是和老婆一起享受大自然的阳光和雪景，当然还有在帐篷里读着那本"创业的过度:以色列的经济奇迹"，Shawn曾经向稣哥祷告过，这本书Shawn会拿出10%-part的那部分收入来购买70本送给陌生人，朋友和native hacker，Shawn一般不在公开场合用"十一奉献"这个词，TMD所有的收入都是来自稣哥，何谈"奉献"一说？整个10月份有三位伟大的黑客离开了我们:John McCarthy, Dennis Ritchie和Steve Jobs。如果说"摆地摊"的Steve Jobs(黑客们更欣赏那个在车库里hacking的Jobs)改变了世界，那Dennis Ritchie则创造了世界,而John McCarthy则是沿着他的老师Alonzo Church的道路给予了后来的黑客们创造世界的可能性。关于他们Shawn写了一篇A & G Trends II会在年底的dnfwah issue 2上发布，明年会发布到blog上。

Nov 12:
和某位对hard sci-fi热衷的家伙的几次讨论深入了一些有趣的题目，但这些题目比起可以即时体验的Kinect和PS3而言显得诱惑力不足，这个月的20号之后在忙一些公司的事情，小到移植应用软件，大到查找内核内存泄漏，繁杂到连个log系统也要亲手来实现，从规模和框架设计的角度，这个日志系统当然不能跟syslog/syslog-ng相比，客户不要求多线程，性能问题他们是打算通过增加硬件来解决，项目完后Shawn编写了一个GPLv3版的日志系统---netlog，功能不是很完善，只是把基础框架完成了，但别指望Shawn继续完善netlog,毕竟Shawn的比特总是从一个领域跳到另外一个领域；Shawn一直认为在亚洲的大部分软件公司只是把人当奴隶来使用，大部分的软件开发人员并没有通过这份工作进而帮助他们思考人生意义，一年的工作经验重复了十次当然可以在简历上写有10年的工作经验，别TM跟Shawn讲为什么Shawn不也是这样的吗，Shawn有自己的理由，但现在却不能分享这些理由，如果稣哥允许Shawn再拥有24年的生命，那Shawn会分享更多的经历的。

Dec 25:
2011年的圣诞节的到来意味着这一年的结束，在25日到元旦的这6天应该是反思这一年所做的事情和选择到底在多大程度上和人生意义的方向一直。去TM的圣诞老人，圣诞老人的来历其实是当年的大公教会的一名虔诚的信徒，也是主教，因为他的所作所为后来被教会封为圣徒。当然今天的圣诞节更多是酱缸教狂欢的日子。每年的这个时候Shawn总是恐惧颤惊，应付忽悠一下公司老板或者教会的自称基督徒的家伙们倒是很容易，但Shawn还没狂妄到去忽悠稣哥，每年这个时候除了祈祷，认罪，忏悔，感恩之外，真不知道还能做些什么。2011年的分享更多是跟神哲学没有直接的联系，但这并不代表Shawn停止了对形而上的思考，像Herman Bavinck的著作和宗教改革运动的资料在2011年仍然是hacking的部分，只是比重不如过去的3年。2011年的最大的aha是得益于神哲学的基础，感谢上帝，到了这个2011快要结束时Shawn终于确认了一些开始于2005年的事情，但要逆向工程第四级别的隐喻还得花一些时间，这个时间恐怕会超过7年。

Dec 31:
北京时间5:15AM，DNFWAH的第二期发布，第一期发布后的40天左右下载量达到了200，原本预期第二期发布后的24小时下载量不会超过50，毕竟作为一份old school风格的中文ezine并不受太多人的关注，早上在solidot上报道了后70分钟内下载量达到83，Shawn看到后跟朋友讲今天的下载量大概会在200左右，可惜50分钟后下载量已经达到203，Shawn就一直跟朋友讲，或许今天第二期的下载量会突破300,400,500,600,700....到下午吃饭的时候已经突破900，TMD这不是稣哥耍我们吗？对于hacking on life/Purpose/Knowledge的old school中文ezine怎么可能会有这么多人关注？到现在(10:08PM)时已经突破1097下载了，也就是说DNFWAH Issue 2发布16个小时后下载量突破了1000，whatever...希望读者们能严肃的去思考自己的人生意义，这里Shawn必须感谢Phrack的作者们，如果没有他们就不可能有这份ezine，2011年的最后一天以这种方式结束还算是aha，也算给稣哥交帐了。

A Biopunk Manifesto(Chinese translation)

A Biopunk Manifesto是由现居比利时的美女生物黑客Meredith L. Patterson在2010年1月30日所写,这份Manifesto的内容对于计算机黑客而言很容易理解,黑客伦理影响的第一大领域当然是计算机领域,Creative Commons许可证作为类GPL在艺术领域的变种一直支撑着像Clearbits(当年的beta legal torrents)这样的艺术黑客社区的发展.但这个时代性的背景毋庸置疑的指向了科技,而能改变未来的三大科技就是AI, Biotechnology和Quantum Mechanics,如果非要用Singularitarian的术语:G(enetic), N(anotechnology), R(obtics);whatever,所有的技术的方向都是朝着Strong AI进军.当然这个过程会经历几个阶段,而这个阶段(2011--2022)则是生物科技商业化的最后预备阶段,难怪Bill Gates也在劝大家去研究molecular biology,生物黑客至今的影响力已经超过艺术黑客,成为黑客伦理直接影响下的第2大社区.

Shawn自从2010年11月开始hacking复杂系统,最近一年的业余hacking搞明白了为什么复杂系统的基础概念和跟奇点的联系,自然跟奇点(Shawn上次对奇点的总结:The Singularity is coming: A Monkey-coder's Perspective)有关的领域特别是那三大领域就特别关注,生物领域肯定是首当其冲,Shawn这次翻译这篇文章只是出于兴趣,也让更多的中国年轻人认识到世界的进化历程,对于翻译质量Shawn可没有什么保证.

The following was delivered yesterday at the UCLA Center for Society and Genetics' symposium, "Outlaw Biology? Public Participation in the Age of Big Bio".
继续跟踪了昨天提交到UCLA(加州大学洛杉矶分校)中心的社会与基因学研讨会上的文章: "丧失公民公共参与的大生物学时代?"

It is inspired by, and deliberately follows the form of, "A Cypherpunk Manifesto" by Eric Hughes.
编写生物朋克宣言是受到了Eric Hughes的"一名电子朋克的宣言"的启发.

Scientific literacy is necessary for a functioning society in the modern age. Scientific literacy is not science education. A person educated in science can understand science; a scientifically literate person can *do* science. Scientific literacy empowers everyone who possesses it to be active contributors to their own health care, the quality of their food, water, and air, their very interactions with their own bodies and the complex world around them.
科学素养是一个健全的现代社会的必需元素.科学素养不是科学教育.一个受过科学教育的人可以明白科学;而一个具有科学素养的人则可以为科学"做"一些事情.科学素养可以让所有的人成为很多方面的积极贡献者比如关注他们自身的健康,食物,水和空气的质量以及一切身体与这个复杂世界交互的事情.

Society has made dramatic progress in the last hundred years toward the promotion of education, but at the same time, the prevalence of citizen science has fallen. Who are the twentieth-century equivalents of Benjamin Franklin, Edward Jenner, Marie Curie or Thomas Edison? Perhaps Steve Wozniak, Bill Hewlett, Dave Packard or Linus Torvalds -- but the scope of their work is far narrower than that of the natural philosophers who preceded them. Citizen science has suffered from a troubling decline in diversity, and it is this diversity that biohackers seek to reclaim. We reject the popular perception that science is only done in million-dollar university, government, or corporate labs; we assert that the right of freedom of inquiry, to do research and pursue understanding under one's own direction, is as fundamental a right as that of free speech or freedom of religion. We have no quarrel with Big Science; we merely recall that Small Science has always been just as critical to the development of the body of human knowledge, and we refuse to see it extinguished.

Research requires tools, and free inquiry requires that access to tools be unfettered. As engineers, we are developing low-cost laboratory equipment and off-the-shelf protocols that are accessible to the average citizen. As political actors, we support open journals, open collaboration, and free access to publicly-funded research, and we oppose laws that would criminalize the possession of research equipment or the private pursuit of inquiry.

Perhaps it seems strange that scientists and engineers would seek to involve themselves in the political world -- but biohackers have, by necessity, committed themselves to doing so. The lawmakers who wish to curtail individual freedom of inquiry do so out of ignorance and its evil twin, fear -- the natural prey and the natural predator of scientific investigation, respectively. If we can prevail against the former, we will dispel the latter. As biohackers it is our responsibility to act as emissaries of science, creating new scientists out of everyone we meet. We must communicate not only the value of our research, but the value of our methodology and motivation, if we are to drive ignorance and fear back into the darkness once and for all.

Biopunks experiment. We have questions, and we don't see the point in waiting around for someone else to answer them. Armed with curiosity and the scientific method, we formulate and test hypotheses in order to find answers to the questions that keep us awake at night. We publish our protocols and equipment designs, and share our bench experience, so that our fellow biopunks may learn from and expand on our methods, as well as reproducing one another's experiments to confirm validity. To paraphrase Eric Hughes, "Our work is free for all to use, worldwide. We don't much care if you don't approve of our research topics." We are building on the work of the Cypherpunks who came before us to ensure that a widely dispersed research community cannot be shut down.

Biopunks deplore restrictions on independent research, for the right to arrive independently at an understanding of the world around oneself is a fundamental human right. Curiosity knows no ethnic, gender, age, or socioeconomic boundaries, but the opportunity to satisfy that curiosity all too often turns on economic opportunity, and we aim to break down that barrier. A thirteen-year-old kid in South Central Los Angeles has just as much of a right to investigate the world as does a university professor. If thermocyclers are too expensive to give one to every interested person, then we'll design cheaper ones and teach people how to build them.

When we work, it is with the betterment of the community in mind -- and that includes our community, your community, and the communities of people that we may never meet. We welcome your questions, and we desire nothing more than to empower you to discover the answers to them yourselves.

Shawn the Shi* living like a dog

Holy shi*, it's hard to share about what the fuc* of my life in 2011. After thinking in a long night I just can say I was living like a dog this year. I have spent a lot of time for really boring job, repeat again and again. It would be suck to a hacker, right? Where the frenk'in of my creative and passions? I felt like it's all gone in past few months. I hate wasting life on boring work. Only the coward would do complain the "unfair" world and keep finding excuses but the truth is I was playing a coward this year. I want hacking/hiking/gaming like a real hacker. I want to startup again, and I will use free software solution this time. When? It's still planning... The Creator of Universe, help a coward to become a real warrior. May your will be done but not mine!

I love this book:Start-up Nation: The Story of Israel's Economic Miracle. I presented 15 copies of Chinese version to those people I met in seminar and trip. I will present another 55 copies to Chinese native speaker hackers. I don't why I think I'm duty share the oldest religion and the cutting-edge technology where comes from Israel, to hackers.

The Singularity is coming: A Monkey-coder's Perspective

I would like to introduce a great genius futurist hacker---Ray Kurzweil. You can google him then you will get a lot of information. He discussed how technology has been changing our future in his book "The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology". He gave examples from different fields, such as quantum mechanic, nanotechnology, AI, biotechnology, etc. One of the interesting things is that Kurzweil made a list of predictions including the time frame:

1, 2020s---Personal computers will have the same processing power as human brains. Human will build the non-linear math model of the brain by reversing engineering. Machine will pass the turning test in 2029 that will be the start of Strong AI.

2, 2030s---Billions of nanobots will enter into human body to antiage and against disease. Today's sci-fi's mind uploading will become possible.

3, 2040s---1000USD buys a computer a billion times more powerful than the human brain. Human body 3.0(as Kurzweil calls it) come into existence. We will become Cyborg. The human-machine civilization will be emerged from the merge process of the biological evolution and the technological evolution. Human beings as the high-level intelligence creatures will not feel lonely anymore.

And, Kurzweil splited evolving universe into 6 epochs:

Epoch 1. Physics and Chemistry

This epoch starts at the beginning of the universe. In this epoch, information is mostly held in subatomic structures such as particles and atoms. That is, the most complicated stable objects in the universe do not exceed the molecular scale in size or complexity.

Epoch 2. Biology and DNA

This epoch starts with the beginning of life on Earth, suddenly giving rise to more complicated, yet stable, organisms that are capable of growth and self-sustainment. However, in this epoch organisms do not change within their lifetimes as evolution takes thousands of generations. Moreoever, in this stage, genetic information is stored in DNA molecules.

Epoch 3. Brains

The evolution of life gradually produced more and more complex organisms, necessitating the need for fast central control and thus giving rise to the evolution of brains. With brains, organisms can now change their behavior dynamically to suit changes in the environment and can also learn from past experiences. Evolutionary information is, in this stage, stored in neural patterns.

Epoch 4. Technology

Evolution of brains culminates with the evolution of humans, which possess the ability to create technology. In this stage, technological designs are also subject to evolution and information is held in hardware and software designs.

Epoch 5. The Merger of Human Technology with Human Intelligence

This epoch, which Kurzweil argues we are in the process of entering, is where technology reaches a level of sophistication and fine-structuring comparable with that of biology, allowing the two to merge to create higher forms of life and intelligence.

Epoch 6. The Universe Wakes Up

After mastering the methods of technology and biology, Kurzweil predicts that human/machine civilization will expand its frontiers into the universe, gradually (or perhaps explosively) consuming the contents of the cosmos until the universe reaches a 'saturated' state where all inanimate matter has been converted to substrates for computation and intelligence, and a truly universal super-intelligence takes form.

This book was published by Viking press(Same publishing as KK's What Technology Wants) in 2005. It's one of the best-seller book in Amazon. This book is still Top-10 sales of Kindle version in 2011. It's definetely influencing on the world view of younger generations. But it does not mean Kurzweil's philosophy is an absolute standard. There are two critical articles "The Singularity is Far: A Neuroscientist's View" which argued about reverse engineering the brain is harder than Kurzweil's approach and Is The Singularity Near Or Far? It's A Software Problem which questioned some of Kurzweil's predictions are too optimistically.

Before I've read Kurzweil's book. I have been hacking a bunch of things, such as philosophy, technology, traditional religion, metaphors of mythology(The Lord of the Rings and DND are my old testament, Foundation series and The Last Question are my new testament). I noticed that these fields have a philosophical fundamental elements: Unity and Diversity. In technological level, I tried to put them into the cloud which I talked about on my last article. The concept of cloud is merging every fields of information technology into a complex system. You(hackers, amateurs, commercial company) have to concern many issues(hardware system, Operating System, optimization, data communication, security, openAPI, etc) if you want to build a cloud. According to wired magazine and some sources of information, we must cross 3 stages to reach the singularity at least.

2011---2022, the whole complex system will be formed by merging information technology.

2022---2034, the paradigm of "design" shift to "evolve".

2034---2046, fuc*~hacker(you might calls "singularitarian") know what's going to be happend---singularity.

I do believe that there are 4 singularities in the evolution of the history of the universe. And we are getting closer to the 5th one:

-[ 1st, The Singularity of Universe:

Most hydrogen atoms were born at the beginning of time. They are as old as time itself. They were created in the fires of the big bang and dispersed into the universe as a uniform warm mist. Thereafter, each atom has been on a lonely journey.

-[ 2nd, The Singularity of Biology:

Cambrian explosion, around 530 millions years ago. Most of species we have already know today are heritance from the evlution tree of after-cambrian.

-[ 3rd, The Singularity of Human:

I agree with KK's view: The creation of language was the first singularity for human 50,000 years ago. It changed everything after language-creation and the language accelerates hacking the new things. And it provided a effective way to spread the knowledge out.

-[ 4th, The Singularity of Modern Human civilization:

The collision of Hebrew religion and Greek philosophy from BC 180 to AC 90. The result of the collision was not just about Christian religion. It was about a strong paradigm that merged the theological philosophy and philosophical theology, which still have influence today. Those 4 strong communities we can see today: Jew, Anglo-Saxon, German, Slav. I really don't want to talk about this one here. But I did.....

-[ 5th, The Singularity of Human-Machine civilization:

When machine process capability beyond the human brains in 2040s. I'm thinking what if the singularity will come in 2046 that must be a joke or metaphor which from SOMEONE. Don't you remember ENIAC was produced in 1946. A bunch of barries are still out there which stuck us to reach the strong AI, we need a breakthrough. I would like to cite Marvin Minsky's philosophy here:" If you understand something in only one way, then you don't really understand it at all. This is because, if something goes wrong, you get stuck with a thought that just sits in your mind with nowhere to go. The secret of what anything means to us depends on how we've connected it to all the other things we know. This is why, when someone learns "by rote," we say that they don't really understand. However, if you have several different representations then, when one approach fails you can try another. Of course, making too many indiscriminate connections will turn a mind to mush. But well-connected representations let you turn ideas around in your mind, to envision things from many perspectives until you find one that works for you. And that's what we mean by thinking!".

We are getting closer to the singularity today. The model of "Sci-fi(theology,philosophy) --> Science--> engineering" is still keeping running at exponential growth rate. Kurzweil gives a definition of Singularitarian is "someone who understands the Singularity and has reflected on its meaning for his or her own life." and the 6th epoch is the wake up of the Universe which implying another type of god. Seems familiar if you have read the Issac Asimov's book(Foundation series and The Last Question). Don't give me wrong, singularitarian is different from a sort of artificial religion reffered to as Scientism in Foundations. The stage of wake up of the Universe is very similar to the final type of Strong AI in "The Last Question".

Singularity is coming! What would a christian hacker do? KK cited a sentence from Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi:"There is more good than evil in the world--but not by much.". Even if the positive part of technology is only 0.1 percent greater than negative part, we still have to embrace it. Find your faith and position in this era, and go through with your sacred vision into the secular world.

cloud,cloud,cloud---we will be one~WTH

Technology is changing our lives. And, it will not wait for those who don't want to learn the new hacks. After keeping thinking in past 8 months then I have to say: to embrace the technology is my only option. This world doesn't care my purpose of life but I do care. There must be some reasons that I was born in 1986 nor 1968. And there are also some reasons that I was born in this era. Yes, I have HOPE for eternal world. It doesn't mean I'm going to wait for death. Because I want to know more about this world, so I have to deal with complex system. Why? It's the 21st century-:)

wait, What the hell is Complex System? I don't want a kind of bullshit answer that includes a bunch of words I never heard. Unfortunately, I have to learn these new stuff if I need to understand what the hell of the CS(not computer science-_-) really is. I heard the term "complex system" at first time in KK's old book(Out of Control). And, one of friends told me about it's an amazing field because it was born in a fresh'en air of the cross fields. Then I started to read books about CS and try to find out a type of technology philosophy for myself:
Out of Control: The New Biology of Machines, Social Systems, and the Economic World, COMPLEXITY: THE EMERGING SCIENCE AT THE EDGE OF ORDER AND CHAOS, Hidden Order: How Adaptation Builds Complexity, What Technology Wants and The Quark and the Jaguar: Adventures in the Simple and the Complex

These books are really fascinating. Some of ideas drives me into some kind of deeper thinking. Is this world designed by SOMEONE or it just evolved for billions of years until now? Or the evolve mechanism has been designed and then it follows the seed principle? How can God design a "imperfect" human brain that it get used to process the "static" paradigms(simplicity) which the informations come from a "dynamic" world(complexity)? Is 1+1+1=3 means a linear paradigm(reductionism?) and 1*1*1=1 means a non-linear paradigm(wholism?)? Will biological creatures have advantages over the mechanical ones? I don't have answers yet. I'm going to keep hacking on CS fields. I think the current epochal characters are science and technology. And the CS is one of the keys(important one) to open the gate of truth for this century.

Cloud computing is definitely a complex system which was born not long ago.Cloud will integrate all information technologies into one. Network systems, server security, mobile, entertainment,etc. I splited the cloud users into some catagories:

--[ 1 As a normal user, each android or iphone users have a great experience of how wonderful service in cloud. Eg: gaming, watching tv, import your user from gmail into android,etc...

--[ 2 As a enterprise user, you can build bunch of management systems(sales, stores, financial,etc) into one where running on the cloud servers. You don't need to care about security or backup stuffs. You can hire someone(force.com?) to build your own apps.And you also could do the data analyze when you have enough data.

--[ 3 As a system administrator, using free softwares to build up a big cloud that it's possible. And dive into hardware hacking level is a good idea too. Eg, Google using cheap x86 platform build a great system, skynet?

--[ 4 As a security hacker, you have to face the evolving of the server-end. The most changes are about virtualization. You have to get used to it. Virtualizations making server stronger and flexibility to defend crackers. Remember that clound have powerful computing resources which means apply some kind of AI is possible.

Maybe there are more types of users who are using cloud service. I can't list them all here. The matter I want to emphasize that the cloud has already a complete eco-system and it will bring more convenient(cheap) services in the future. Every apps and users are affecting each other and co-evolution is happening. A single user is like a unconscious molecule cell in a group of people(tissues). A group of people as a unconscious tissue in a upper-level maybe it's organ. You can see more diversities in a higher level abstraction. The most important thing is "emergent property". Eg, like a unconscious cell, a neuron is nothing to do with free will. But free will and consciousness will show up when 100 billions of neurons built a trillions of connections. Dahhh, sorry about that I should not use these ecology terms with my nonfluent english. Do you really know what I am talking about? I'm doubting that, because I have no idea what i am talking about-_-

rock climbing --- a type of hack

I made a list which is a hacking plan in June 2009. It's almost 2 years for now. My hacking is still running by the list. Let's make a short version of that list. There are 3 stages that I have to finish on the road of old school hacking.

1, (2010)Learning GNU/Linux and start doing with a real engineering project which related to data-communication fields, such as developing the product of switch, router, etc.

2, (2011)Start to hack the security part of data-communication field. I'm on this stage now. So I need to get a job like that. Perhaps I'm going to work for a local the biggest security next week.

3, (2013)When above 2 stages done. I will spend my hacking time on server security that means the world of the art of exploits will be open up to me.

It's a not very long plan. It only cost 3--5 years of my life. I looked into the ezine at first time in 2004. But I have no idea what was it talking about. The technique and philosophy are so hard to me. Thank God, I got phrack ezine again last Aug. These high quality papaers might help a lot in my hacking journey.

I resigned my prev job 2 weeks ago. I don't work for money. That would be terrified to those managers who just want to hire a good monkey-coders by a good salary. I think that money as a only reason for work is a stupid of life. Think about that, 40 percents (maybe more) of your life are going to cost by work. What would hacker do? (another version of WWJD?-_-) You tell me.

Today, another "aha" was that I have my first experienced on rock-climbing. Matt (he is a ROR programmer) as a ranger that he lead the way and I followed. I was feeling real great in that 2 hrs of rock-climbing. We have been hacking stuffs (programming and more) on mountain for days. I'm hacking on a paper about SMM rootkit from the 65th issues of phrack mag. Maybe I could share about it in the future.

got "What Technology Wants"

before I was started this trip,I googled the mainstream bookstore in hk about KK's new book-What Technology Wants but the final result was no inventory.I was upset and started to think a question,if i should just break my current paradigm(pay for cash) to pay online for this book at once.sound like a dinosaur still living on the planet,right?but thank GOD,my wife finally found this book in the city.What Technology Wants would give you a precise way of explaining that how technology have been affecting our history and the future.The whole history of technological things is run by a kind of organic co-evolution system.That kind of system would never be stopped or influenced by personal human's willing.I think KK's world view is going to bring me into a world which can get closer to the type of world view in planetary.I just finished the 1st chapter of the book reading.At the end of the 1st chapter ,KK mentioned about autonomy's definition.That was really interesting.It reminds me another stuff that our conversation going to be fucked if we dont have a accurate terms.

Met friends in person,watched the video of sci-fi science,and walked down the seaside with my beautiful wife and enjoyed delicious food(sushi,seafood,of course my favorite beef),that's all I have done in past 9 days vacation.

btw:Im writting this blog with my 1st macbook.Dont blame me,dude!Im not RMS or kind of person who are enthusiasm in pure free software.This macbook is for my wife's daily use in most time.I just take a while and look into the macintosh sometimes.To me,GNU/Linux is still my favorite platform.Amen!

最近quakecon 2010上id software的创始人John Carmack在iphone上演示[1]了新一代的id tech 5引擎---Rage.通常来讲走old school路线的hacker对苹果公司的是嗤之以鼻的,作为一名从1994年就开始玩id出产的每一部游戏的玩家看到了这个演示肯定会兴奋起来.关于面对Apple和Google对新一代的digital natives的影响之大也是我们在未来的社区开放教育和家庭教育中必须去面对的问题.很早之前就想谈谈关于这个话题,今天借这次id准备在iphone平台上的展示作为引题和HFG成员讨论一下.

1.我们所处的时代性背景的环境?
Unix诞生(1969)到现在也就41年,关于这段历史背景可以去google,早期的UNix社区的hacker都是对硬件,软件,数学,哲学甚至艺术,神学有着想当的功底的家伙,比如berkeley的spice就是一帮怪人花了10多年的时间完成了电路所有可能性的情况的数学模型到计算模型的转换,也就是实现成了code.而Alonzo Church本人也是数学家,但不太清楚他的哲学模型的来源,但肯定和两希的方法论有关系.从工程层面,简洁的讲,老牌UNIX社区的hacker几乎是走的软硬结合的路线.但到了1989年之后,情况发生了变化,个人电脑的兴起导致了很多商业公司也需要各种各样的定制系统,这些需求也就成为了MIS和ERP的原型,个人电脑的兴起让hacker们开始对行业系统相关的领域开始关注,他们一部分人进入了银行,证卷,工业系统的开发当中.而随着1990年万维网(www)发明之后的快速增长让在此期间成长起来的hacker进入了Web开发领域,但在90年代这帮hacker的软硬件水平还是相对比较高,之后由于微软, APPLE在各自的平台上开发出了极为简化的开发工具直接让大批量的成长于1998年之后的程序员可以很方便的写程序,也就是说他们的软硬件水平已经不如之前的来自Unix社区的hacker们.2006年,Web已经成为生活在这个星球上的人们必不可少的一部分,相应的所谓Web 2.0的潮流更注重个性化,blog之类的东东由此而来,blog= web log,这可不是什么"博客"的语境能体会其真实意义的,在70年代后期和80年代,hacker们都在终端机上连接到大型机进行工作,而他们都习惯于建立一个自己的log文件用于记录每天的心得,这个log文件会随着时间的流逝变得越来越大.而blog的意思就是说把log放到web上.2006的web开发已成为整个应用的主流,工业用的ERP系统,商业使用的MIS和个人的GTD系统都基于web进行实现,这一时期的LAMP(GNU/Linux+Apache+Mysql+php)和Ror(ruby on rails)比起之前的开发框架大大的加速了开发效率,当然这和个人电脑的价格低廉有很大的关系,web框架为了让开发迅速,所以使用了很多解释型语言的特性相对效率会变得低下,不过比起高性能的廉价个人电脑这点牺牲也算不得什么.

上面一堆废话还是不能详细的描述整个历史的进程,还是建议大家去google吧....2006之后的情况变得更加的复杂,大部分hacker们的知识结构比起1990年发生了很大的变化,hacker不在关注软硬件的本身,而更多的是去关注上层应用的问题,新一代的hacker们把hacking转化成为了generic hacking的形式,也就是说只要follow黑客伦理在任何领域都可以进行hacking,当然这也不是什么新鲜的事情,早在Phrack的1990年代的杂志就已经提到过hacking在general层面上的意义,更早的话可以追述到1980年代的一个hacker的发言(如果没记错,应该是Steve Wozinak):你可以在任何领域成为黑客而不光是在计算机领域,只要你专注于你所专注的创造,木匠黑客也成为可能,etc...黑客伦理对各个领域的渗透在1990年代最早关注和应用的是在犹太社区,当然这几乎是underground的,2000年之后越来越多的hacker在诸多领域兴起比如法律,金融,艺术,教育,etc.关于这一点可以参考以前的那篇threads[2].

1.1 只能亲自体验的生命---隐喻
2001年开始,以2位来自犹太社区的hacker为代表的阵营完成了对早期软硬结合hacking精神到应用程序开发的hacking的范式的转移,这2个家伙你们或许已经非常熟悉---Paul Graham and Joel Sposky.早期的老派Unix黑客的精神延续到了新生代的hacker群体里,但有一点需要关注的是,在新一代应用级别的hacker的代表人物都对两希范式的哲学部分有不浅的了解,而且大多数hacker对软硬结合的知识不比前辈们逊色,写OS和compiler的家伙也不是个例,当然生长在4大社区(犹太,撒克逊,日尔曼,斯拉夫)之外的digital natives相对来讲就没有那么幸运了,直接被应用开发的大潮冲进了大流之中.但这里有一个很关键应该也是很多年轻hacker关心的问题:facebook也是应用的开发,为什么没有诞生在犹太社区以外?Shawn个人觉得这个是很正常的事情,Mark E.Zuckerberg很年轻,请认真的看看有关他创建facebook的访谈,今年纽约时报的一位有名记者写了一本书关于他的书,Mark不是把web开发仅仅当成web开发,而把整个过程看作为有机系统的形成,这是很关键的一点,Shawn只能也只有能力谈到这里,剩下的内容太庞杂涉及4层模型,凡是涉及4层模型本身的Shawn尽量选择面对面的交流.

2.1 Apple的艺术革命
一定要谈谈G和A,今天的主角其实是他们.这2个都是犹太财团在计算机领域的7巨(MS,IBM,G,A,ORACLE,INTEL,FSF)之列,但跟其他几个巨头不太一样的是他们的名气是最大的,为什么很多人都喜欢使用A的产品,Macbook,ipad,iphone,itouch,etc...因为A一直都在给用户宣称你买一台Macbook买的不仅仅是一台机器,而是一种社会标识,意味着你已经在参与艺术普及化的运动之中,这是一场革命,而你深处其中,这样的世界观难道不能深入有识之士的年轻人的内心吗?随便走进一个开放研讨会,如果您使用的是MS-Windows那只会被hacker们不屑一顾的眼光渺上一眼,当然computer/video game LAN-PARTY除外.

2.2 Google的paradigm shift
那G呢?每天我们都在使用google web search,gmail,google group,google buzz,etc...G最牛的也是HFG必须注意的地方是她完整的把原本"曲高和寡"的Unix old-school风格转化(transformed into)成了"世界公民"的日常用品.看看google group的功能,把usenet,mailing list,bbs都完备而简洁的结合到了一起.把最高的愿景实现到最世俗化的世界的程度是两希范式的特点之一,7巨头都有这种能力,但G已经把这种能力发挥到了极致.这里Shawn还可以具一个例子:P-buffers.P-buffers是一款用于把不通的网络协议以自定义的方式存放到数据结构的一个中间层软件,这个东东用途非常广,几乎很多数通产品都会使用类似的软件,你想想?从软件工程看,数据通讯行业是世界上排名在top 5和底层有关系的应用,G把PB的语法弄的很像C和Lisp的结合,这是一个新的尝试,G厉害就厉害在通过这样一个尝试(a try)把世界上跟底层打交道相关的开发者的头脑往G所指的方向上去.G的强大自然不用Shawn来多谈,7巨头中都是软硬结合有机性玩的最酷的也应该是G了,从GNU/Linux kernel,web server,gcc,protocols related stuffs,etc全部是自己定制,但最终的性能超过了很多专业定制的厂商比如RedHat.

3.HFG如何来面对这一切?
HFG的成员目前都来自中国,也就是说我们的生长环境是在亚洲,这意味着我们没有人会在14岁前完成Torah(律法书)的基础学习,Shawn希望我们的下一代可以从家庭教育中完成我们本应该完成但当时没有完成的律法课程,从最高的信仰->哲学->数学->计算机科学(CS)->计算机工程(CE).关于家庭教育这是另外一个话题,虽和今天这个话题有着有机的联系但今天我们还是把重心放到讨论A和G的上面.

目前的世界中还是得化分为2种使用同样的3logies方法论但又在具体形而下的表现形式上完全不通的hacker范式:1,Unix老派hacker 2,generic hacker.这2者在方法论上都来自两希范式,但不同的是展现给世界的形式.
1,undergroud的聚会 2,公开化聚会
1,注重哲学层面的思辨 2,注重技术本身
1,偏旧哥特斯拉夫式的地下室风格 2,典型的新纪元运动中典型美式风格
1,注重各种hacking领域的本质 2,针对相对表面级别的hacking
代表杂志:1,Phrack[4] 2,hackerMonthly[5]

Phrack杂志创办于1985年,目前已经有25年的历史,一帮来自地下的技术精湛的hacker在phrack上写了非常多的高质量文章,在phrack的underground式的语境下,hacking通常指信息安全相关的技术,phracking则是结合无线电通信的一种hacking.phrack代表了old school的hacker的风格,即使到今天他们大多数人仍然喜欢低调的风格,没有大规模的研讨会,甚至业内很多技术得参照phrack的公布来制定相应的安全产品策略,但人们还是不知道到底是哪些人在写这些文章.因为phrack的hacker们大多喜欢使用在irc或者mailinglist里的名字(当然不是真名).phrack还有一个特点是underground的风格让hacker们看起来有无政府主义的倾向,他们热衷于追求某个领域的hacking(信息安全相关技术占30%以上),phrack上的文章您还可以找到教你如何制作炸药包和突击步枪,phracker们对自由和创造性的热衷恐怕是世界上少有的族类,但他们严格的遵守着黑客伦理以至于他们几乎不会去cracking非财团系统的服务器.他们是信息革命的先锋,他们是这场革命的缔造者,但这群世界最顶级的hacker直到今天仍然选择了underground.这是值得我们思考的,如果没有phrack恐怕HFG在的兄弟会(社区)改造上会花上更多的精力,phrack给了我们太多的思考和形而下的资源库.

hackermonthly和phrack相反,走的是disclosure路线,把黑客伦理渗透到各个领域,hackermonthly更关注的是startup(创业),VC(风险投资),技术创业,iphone平台的应用开发,web 2.0,SOA之类的和人们生活息息相关的领域,至少在表面上看起来这些"流行"的技术是这样,这里Shawn完全没有贬低第2种范式hacker的意思,而是必须强调第2种范式来源于第1种范式.Paul Graham和Joel Sposky这2位第2范式的代表在软硬结合的技术方面是非常厉害的,Paul自己开发lisp的方言,在1990年代Paul就是使用common lisp开发的最早一批的电子商务平台,而Joel对SICP的热衷已经在他的Joel on software里谈了很多次.这种范式相比不需要过多介绍.

以上几点是比较明显的2种hacker不同的范式,我们可以来问问自己更适合于哪一种?对于Shawn而言,比例大概是6:4,而有些HFG的gears则完全推崇第一种范式.ok,介绍完了这个现在可以谈谈A和G了,A的产品比如Macbook,iphone,ipad,Shawn从未想过会考虑购买A的产品,A虽然很酷,但对于A在BSD上的偷盗行为相信很多old school hacker还是耿耿于怀,但这次可是id software的游戏跑在iphone上,将来或许还会运行在ipad上,A的影响是巨大的,G的产品gmail,groups,android,etc...G的产品也很有aha,email系统大家都认为不会有太大的创新,但gmail让我们都眼前一亮改变了我们的生活方式,groups结合了ml和bbs,让old school的东东可以容易的让new school接受,android..........如果不仔细hacking一番恐怕很难找到第一种范式的影子,为什么呢?generic式的hacking渗透到了很多非计算机的领域,但不要忘了黑客伦理诞生于计算机领域,而第一种范式则是黑客伦理的发源地(当然这里所谈的hacker ethic是相对狭义的,也就是说没有直接涉入形而上的基础.如Pekka所言,广义的黑客伦理应该追述到柏拉图的学院派和圣奥古斯丁的时期甚至更早).第2种范式是建立在第1种范式的基础上的,上面已经谈到过了两希范式的其中一大原则是在世俗的世界当中去实现那神圣的愿景,A和G的hacker们都知道如果赤裸裸的把一套东东拿出来是没办法来征服世界的,所以必须进行转化(transform into)成世俗能接受的,而macbook和android之类的产品就属于此类最形而下形式的表现.

那对于HFG来讲,处于在这个特定时代性的背景下,如何能尽力站在永恒性的postion出发善用两希范式是一个严肃的问题.phrack式和hackermonthly式的范式我们必须认真来思考,我们今天的哲学观决定了我们的未来!这个话题还有太多的内容要探讨,但有一点在这里必须谈谈,就是有机性(organic)的问题,这个问题关乎有机性的生命(one organic life),即一个生命的个体在处理4大关系(对上帝,对自己,对人,对物质)中使用方法论的耦合度问题.eg:比如一个基督徒礼拜天去教堂作礼拜向上帝忏悔,或许他因为需要心理安慰或者教会的人比较有爱心所以他才去,因为从礼拜一到礼拜六他最亲近的人都觉得他"不算"是个基督徒.Shawn告诉你,这种基督徒非常多,这种基督徒不等同于基督教,不等同于归正神学,更不能等同于基督.这样一种信仰状态说的好听一点叫做生命不成熟,讲的直接点就是精神分裂.看看我们今天中国的互联网环境就知道,很多人写"博客"(不是blog)的内容和他的生命绝对不会匹配(match).这里Shawn可以和你打个赌:如果您可以在Shawn的blog上找到一篇内容和现实生活中的Shawn没有match的,我可以请您吃一个月的方便面:-) 在犹太基督教影响的地区,人们写blog不会精神分裂.

理性思辨所带来的哲学有很多,但关于生命的哲学只有在圣经才有可能找到,基督讲"我就是道路,真理与生命".这里可以作一个类比,即道路-methodology,真理-ontology,生命-epistemology.如果logy的最终没有使生命得益处那恐怕也会输掉人生的博弈游戏.这篇thread涉及的话题诸多,之后还得split into difference topics去细节性的探讨.

aha,2010 going to be a history and 2011 is coming.It's pretty exciting to embrace the new year's come.Im feeling never strong than now.That's a good sign for 2011.

I want to write some shit down here.it's all about my memorable history:
The first job(in IYAKASA) I got after graduated that it's roll to write the automobile detection system in MFC code.I hate mfc,always.ditry framework and ugly macro-reflection was tortured me for 4 months.Then I got my second job in Just In Mobile.I worked for JIM even not much longer than IYAKASA(only 3 months).I felt better in JIM because I could written C code with UNIX platform out there at least.

Then,I was started a startup with 2 guys which the company's name is od software which focus on developing customized system for specific-industry.This Business is good in local but I think there's something inside of my heart I need to follow:try to figure out the truth of computer field.So I have to ask help for Computer Sicence,math,and philosophy.We closed the od after worked together for 18 months.Then I was travel to many places in China for tech seminars and hiking.After more than 6 months traveling around I got back in Feb.Now Im working for a local data-communication company.porting stuff from x86 to other architecture is my majority work now.It's a sleepy job for living at least can work with GNU/Linux.

I sponsored a open-seminar with few guys in mid-2008.And we are going to start a open-hacks with few MIT OCW(practical-c-programming,ose,CLP,etc) next January.We provided room,of course and Chinese tea:-) We hate the traditional teacher-student model.We would like to use DND model instead of traditional one which means:
1,we need a leader as if a dungeon master guide us a direction of the hack that described in OCW's lecture pdf when a group of guys hacking a specific open course
2,teacher(teacher) is a student,student is a teacher.

HOpe can bring more hacker spirit to those who will be hacking the open courses with us.

Another aha about the Kevin Kelly(KK).I would like to let you know a great book(in CHinese version) from KK has already been published for few days.I have read the first 3 chapters.the quality of the translation is always most-care thing we have.According to the first 3 chapters I think it's ok to read.Go,get the book.paper-version in Chinese or electronic in original(english).

KK's world view should be the high-prio task which we need to push it into our "queue".To me(and few hackers),magical literature like as Tanach(Old Testament) and science-fiction like as New Testament Bible in the level of mythology.It's hard to believe that KK was started writt the Out of Control about 20 years ago.Those ideas he talked about in the book is not expired for nowadays.How can a geek do
that?because of his Jerusalem trip or biking 4000 miles?or what...I dont know.But I definitely make sure that it's worth to read.Out of Control and KK's new book-What tech wants.A few months ago,a sister gave me a msg said"hey SHawn,you must be heard of KK".Wowo,If you points KK the wired I certainly Knew.Then we have start a open-seminar to discussed about KK's world views in Oct.

CT:Have you seen an increase in the intersection of science and religion?

KK:I think there has been a minimal formal interaction between those spheres, but I detect an increase in frustration that there is not more.

I think my meager attempts to bridge those [through writing] are done slightly against the grain in the sense that there are not a lot of other attempts to do it. It is difficult to do because technology is seen as almost the antithesis of spirituality. Science is cast as the rational vs. the irrational of belief. It is a huge gap to overcome.

Shawn:Did I mentioned about 4-layers model?theology->philosophical

firstable,We need a absolute standard that called theology level.In this level,reason is not most important one.Build your faith is more important than anything else.eg,"I dont believed God is exist until you can prove it to me" implying that he(or she) believed that only the reasoning proven can make them to believe that God is exist.Everyone has their own absolute standard.For me,it's reformed theology and something from Judaism.

Then we can go to do philosophical thinking under those absolute standards.This is philosophy level.one of most important attributes of man is to reasoning.Just like as Aristotle thought that the most differ between human and animal is that man can reason.We have to philosophical thinking for life meaning,Love and so on.

It's not good enough when we got a philosophy model.We still need to precisionize what we got from generic consequence of ideas.That's why we need math to solve problem.

CT:With such a gap, how have you balanced faith with science in your own life?

KK:My interest in science came first. I was science nerd in high school. The way I have reconciled it is that I see my mission as to talk about it, to explore the two, and to talk about faith using the vocabulary and logic of science.

I don't feel a division in terms of emotion. I recognize it is a division in the logic. My attempt is to articulate why science and religion are really talking about the same thing or how they can talk about the same thing.

Shawn:of course he didnt feel a division.One organic life,remember?

CT:What does your Wired article "God is the Machine" say about the
identity of God?

KK:There was part of that piece cut out in which I was stressing that every age reinterprets God with their own metaphor. God doesn't change, but our metaphors do. The current reigning metaphor that is very unacknowledged in our culture right now is the computational metaphor. It permeates everything and we don't even know it.

What I was suggesting was that one could use this completely universal and accepted metaphor to describe God. It isn't necessarily truer than other metaphors, but it is only truer to the age. It may be no more valid than past metaphors, but it makes a lot more sense to people 30 years and under. It is an attempt to use a current language and syntax and perspective and metaphor to describe an eternal thing.

In your 1999 paper "Nerd Theology"[2] you use another computer concept, information, as a metaphor for God. How does that apply?

The public at large's acceptance of the notion of information actually gives us ways to understand God. First of all, what is information? The kinds of ways you would describe it are the ways we would describe God: there's no material, it's a force, it has a power.

We can use concepts of information to describe God. It is not fair to say they are equal because obviously a bit on a CD is not God. When I talk about the universality of computation as something that is shared and fundamental I am not suggesting that God is computation other than to say that computation is one way we can think about God.

Shawn:interesting part~seems he mentioned about few important principles of reformed theology.
1,God doesnt change,but our metaphor do.
2,reinterpreter God is the tough tasks of in every age.different ages had corresponding metaphors.

And KK talked about computational metaphor permeates everything today.Ok,Im not a extreme computerist.But I think the computation itself as old as world creation.

CT:From where have you learned the most about God?

KK:I came to my belief fairly late in life, so my influences actually came from spending huge amounts of time in other religions in Asia. As a photographer there, I spent inordinate amounts of time hanging out at temples, mosques, monasteries, etc. That has a lot of influence.

Science fiction also played a critical role, because it seemed to me that science-fiction authors are actually the theologians of our age.They grapple with the "what ifs." They look at how technology changes our lives and changes our minds.

Theologians employed in academia seem to be far more remote and not engaged with actual changes occurring. I would guess that Star Trek and Gene Roddenberry have much more of an effect. People actually listen and pay attention to their theological musings, which is a lot of what science fiction is. What do we do when we meet other intelligence? What does it mean to be a human? These questions are much better addressed by science fiction.

I would say that the influence of other religions in practice and science fiction was as influential for me as Bible studies and sermons. In that sense, I am probably not alone.

Shawn:why theologians(normal ones) cant make a great world view just like as Star Trek and starcraft in average case?What's your first ideas come out when you hear the words "priest preaching"?kind of boring,right?I hate almost of Christian preachers I met.But I knew a few of "I-hate" preachers still are good at speak God's words,literally.whatever I like or not that I have to go BIble study.Because I knew truth out there.

Warning:almost of preachers I knew just guffing around on the stage.God will shut them down...

CT:How did these influences lead up to what happened in Jerusalem on Easter morning, 1979?

KK:That's a story I don't think I could tell any better than the one I told on NPR. I simply couldn't tell it any better. But what happened is something I don't really have a good explanation for. I would call it a surrender or an acceptance.

I think you can make two models of the universe: you can make an entirely logical argument that there is no God, [or you could make an] equally logical argument of a genesis and a creation of the world. In the end, it comes down to a decision that one makes. You go down one road and within that road, everything makes complete sense.

I think that is sort of what I did. It took going to Jerusalem on Easter morning out to the empty tombs to really trigger an acceptance of this alternative view. Once I accepted it, there is a logic, comfort, leverage that I have because of that view.

Shawn:this part is about his personal experience.no comment!

CT:Why did it take this experience to convince you?

I don't have a good explanation. I was older, and I was a reluctant convert. I am sort of an intellectual type. I don't know why Jerusalem, but that's what it took.

I have no idea why I fell in love with my wife. Why her? She is probably the least likely. I could have spent years and years trying to imagine who I would marry and never come up with her. So why?

It is really strange why these things happen. I am not sure it is important if there is a logical explanation. I think I am a person who likes to see things in action and to have first-hand experience. I am more interested in basing things on my experiences rather than just what someone told me.

CT:You are currently writing a new book, what is it about?

KK:A major theme is that technology is not some lesser evil that we just have to put up with, nor is it a neutral tool that can be used for good or bad. Instead, I suggest that technology is actually a divine phenomenon that is a reflection of God.

Technology expands life's possibilities. It also brings other views of God. I think that the human intellect alone simply can't come close to apprehending God. It will require all the intellects in the universe,including any artificial intellects we make, if we are to approach even the slightest glimmer of who God is.

The reason why we want more technology is that every individual human has a certain God-given set of talents that require things like technology in order to be expressed.

Imagine Beethoven being born 2,000 years ago when there was no orchestra or piano. What a loss that would have been. He of course would have made the best music he could have with whatever he found, but we would not have the glorious work that he did. Same with George Lucas and film.

There are people born today that will never really be able to develop their full set of talents God has given them because technology does not exist yet. We have a moral obligation to increase the amount of technology in the world.

Shawn:God gaves his citizens specific missions in the correspond ages.The principle is still:Given much more,require more."But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.Luke." 12:48

CT:What can computer nerds or sci-fi writers teach theologians about God?

KK:One of the great things about C. S. Lewis was that he was both.That is one of his strengths and why people are attracted to his work.He was basically a science-fiction theologian.

Someone once said that Earth is either the only intelligent life in the universe or it is just one of millions. Either statement is an astounding, amazing fact. Let's say the second is correct and there are a lot of other civilizations all around the universe. The question is, do they have a Jesus?

That's a question most theologians are not addressing. But it is certainly the kind of question science-fiction writers will address. I think by addressing it, they quickly come to grappling some pretty interesting and powerful things. I think science fiction can get you to that point a lot sooner than traditional theology studies.

Shawn:C.S.Lewis and JR Tolkien are 2 of greatest world view designers in 20th century.Especially,Tolkien's The Lord of The rings and The Silmarillion gave you a new way of thinking to describe the Christian's world view that created a reflection of Bible to a mid-earth world.The game aint over yet.Thank KK gave us a gift.This
interview is useful to build a organic system through 4-layers model.

phrack[1]早期有很多领域的hacking分享包括无线电,机械,炸弹,无政府主义的哲学观,后来由于90年代安全领域的兴起开始越来越多的专注于computerhacking,当然这并不代表phrack就从此走向了可恶的'纯技术"路线,如果真是这样那就不是phrack了,最近的3个issues(p64,p65,p66不包括马上要出的p67)都有一篇关于brainhacking的article,phrack也是早期的把hacking带入到非计算机领域的一帮hacker,感谢上帝创造了这样一帮有趣且信仰坚定的家伙,Shawn带出的是p66的这篇的原文和质量低下的翻译,作为在这个时代性背景下的hacker,Shawn坚信2样技术是我们必须关注的:information tech and bio.MIT最牛的不光是CS还有一个方向叫computational biology[2].而这两个技术的一个交叉领域就是AI[3],gears们在hacking CS的本质领域(OS,compiler,network)的同时也不要忽略对这2个领域的关注,KK已经强调很多次了,wired也以不同的形式展现了下一个12年我们需要面对的问题,希望这篇文章能帮助gears们对这个领域的一些了解.

Since the invention of the EEG, S-F writers produced many books with stories about pumping out the content of your brain and putting it in another brain, or taking the control of your soul or willingness and driving you as a robot. We wil not talk about the well known MK-ULTRA project that never ended up on any real functioning device approaching this result. What they did reach is well described in the still suspicious book "Trance formation of America" (www.trance-formation.com).

--[ 1. MRI
By enhancing the resolution of Magnetic Resonance Imagery device, we should be able to do nice things such putting ideas or remembering in the brain of someone.
通过增强核磁共振成像设备的分辨率,我们应该可以做出一些很不错的事情比如吧某人的记忆装入你的大脑.

There are today multiples ways to measure brain activity. Brain activity is also brain content, to some extent, depending what you are measuring and what you are looking for.

的奥秘则取决于您的测量方式和目的.

The most advanced works achieved around what's in the brain is the BlueBrain project, invented by Henry Markram at EPFL in Switzerland. His lab is using a 10.000 CPU Blue Gene type IBM supercomputer, and a super Silicon Graphic computer with 16 graphic cards and 64 Itanium 2 CPU to display processing results. He did start by making the inventory of all neurons types and response type, sorting out few tens types of each. Next he built devices to digitize the geometry of each type of neuron,following the path of dendrites and axons, branch by branch, stroke by stroke, change in diameter, etc. A typical neuron ends up with about 10.000 XYZ 3D coordinates. Next, he packed 10.000 neurons of multiple types in a very narrow space; 5mm by 1mm. This is what scientists name a
microcolumn of the neocortex. Then he put electrical input at the entry of the "network" and did a simulation, using the few tens of responses found in these neurons. The result is a modified electrical state of all these branches: 100 millions branches! Each one with a different electrical level. This density of neurons produces short circuits between each of them, the synapse. Such micro column can contains up to a trillion synapses!

From a mechanical point of view, this is not anymore a network, this is a dense matter with different electrical level at each cubic 5 micron. You should see the neuronal network as the processing device of the I/O, when the remaining electrical levels are the memory of the events/habits/experiences.
从机械的观点来看,这已经不是一个网络,而是一个在每5微米含有不同电平的致密物质.当

Now, let's say that a lab can produce a MRI device with such resolution. It will measure the electrical level each 5 micron, and do it for a specific area, let's say to start easy, the area of both hands. Ok, we have to store few terabytes of data, a quite easy job today.
这个实验室设备能生成这样分辨率的核磁共振成像.它可以测量出在特定地区的每5微米的电平.剩下的事情就是要存储几个TB的数据,这在今天是件容易的事情.

Now, let's take somebody, and put his head in another device, a three dimensional phased array radar, or more precisely, a micro wave transducer (only the emitting part of the radar). This device can browse space without movement. By putting two perpendicular transducers next to the brain, they can send two beams in it, and where they cross, create an electrical pulse with an intensity equal to the sum of both beams, also equal to the original.

现在我们可以把某个人的头塞进这个设备,进行3D的相控阵雷达扫描,或者来点更精确的,
微波传感器(只是雷达的扫描部分)之类的.这个设备可以查看空间而不需要移动.把2个垂直的

Doing so, it's possible with a super high resolution system, to pinpoint each cell that was acquired (peeked) in the "donor", and poke its value in the other brain.
这么做是有可能借助于高清晰分辨率的系统定位在大脑A的每个单元,然后把相应的值放进
大脑B.

If the donor is a good violin player, the receiver, when waking up, will feel as if he has new hands, and be surprised how easy he can play violin (but maybe not Mozart yet).
如果大脑A是一个不错的小提琴演奏家,那当大脑B的家伙醒过来后也能轻松的演奏小提琴,
但是离莫扎特还有些距离.

A step further, we can peek and poke other areas of the brain, like the one containing experience, skills, visual scenes. With this last example, a criminal or a suspect refusing to talk, can be peeked from the visual cortex, and the result can be poked in another brain. The receiver will "see" new scenes, and maybe the one of the crime.
进一步讲,我们可以输入输出其他区域的大脑内容,比如经验,技能,视觉景色.就如上面的例子一样,一个罪犯或者嫌疑犯不愿意承认罪行,那就可以把他的视觉部分输出到大脑B,大脑B的持有者就可以看看到底是否有犯罪现场的镜像在头脑里出现.

The better the resolution, the higher the resolution of the remembering.

It's not mandatory to match neuron by neuron, from the donor to the receiver, or stroke by stroke, or synapse by synapse. The density is so high that we can really see the memory inside the neocortex as being stored in a three dimensional matrix. Whatever the network, as soon as it is the area used to do a specific operation (see Broca's areas) like hands, speech, vision, etc. the "knowledge" stored during years is stored as electrical levels in a matrix. The neuronal network will find back it's way through the different channels of higher voltage poked in the matrix, reconnect instantaneously synapses to recreate missing bridges.
不是必须要通过匹配神经元,从大脑A到大脑B,或者互相碰撞,或者神经连接线之间的匹配.密度如此之高的大脑我们完全可以把新大脑皮层的记忆存储到3D的矩阵中.可以根据特定的行为来确定大脑的区域(译注:Broca's areas通常指跟语言有关的大脑区域比如手,声音,图像,etc.多年来的"知识"作为电平存储在一个矩阵中.神经网络会找到不同的高电压隧道在矩阵中输入,重现链接到瞬间的神经连接线上并且重构丢失的部分.

Think about a country: villages and inhabitants are there, connected with road networks.

Move houses and inhabitants in another place, keeping topology. Wherever they end up, they will immediately recreate roads and path to reconnects all houses and building. Houses and inhabitants are our memory and skills, materialized by electrical levels. They don't care about having to recreate roads and paths. They know where they want to go and which connections they need to do their work. The synaptic plasticity is even more wonderful than what you can imagine. Indeed, axons and dendrite can move as snakes to approach other neurons structure, and pop up synaptic connections everywhere they wan, and all of that in seconds!

Basically, think about your brain being a computer. First neurons met by an external input are acting as your computer I/O unit; and A/D converter. These neurons are mostly in the internal side of the neocortex (inside the brain).The neurons the are receiving the converted measures are the processing units, and the neurons receiving the results, have to send it to the muscles or some other parts of your body. In parallel, all neurons are storing what's happening all the time, recording everything crossing them: this is our memory, a matrix parallel to our neuronal network, used for data storage an dnot directly related to our processing unit.

The system described here above will not work to inject ideas in the brain, but just knowledge, remembering and skills. Producing ideas is something else, produced by consciousness, and this is a complete other story involving quantum physic.

We are now entering in leading edge researches made by visionary scientists that are not always belonging to what we name the "scientific paradigm", meaning that if they want to keep their annual funding, they should not investigate further these areas or stop to talk about what they are doing. We will present you some of their work and how they can hack your brain to the perfection.

If you take a neuron, or even any living cell, you can find in all of them centriols and micro tubules. All are made of bi-state monomers molecules, able to take two states, alpha and beta, depending the quantum state of on of their component. Each molecule has a state but can switch to the other one for some still unknown reason. When all the molecules of one micro-tubule switch their state to the same one, the micro tubule becomes super conductive for light and some other waves. The change of state is due to one spinning particle that will collide the molecule and change the position of one its atom. These molecules have a size of 15nm.
We need therefore a device able to send spinning particle in a brain with a resolution of maximum 15 nm to have a chance to make the atom turning the righ way. Hopefully, making an particle spinning left handed will make the molecule swapping to it's L-associated state, or let's say the alpha state.

There are already labs device able to adjust and measure particle's spin direction. Let's imagine we make them in such a way that they can work on the brain a little bit like the MRI hacking machine. It will not be a device as with the 3D phased array system, but more a wave canon, adjusting the wave origin to match exactly the distance needed to act on a specific electron. The device will have to be highly accurate, and fast. We can think about minimum one million antennas in the device (don't worry, they are used with such complexity). The device will process
millimeter by millimeter of the neo cortex, and required about one minute to read or patch a square centimeter. Because its entire surface is 2.000 square cm, the device will need about two days to hack a complete brain. Being not able to have an exact matching between both brains geometry is not a matter, for the same reason as with the MRI system. We can use, only here, the term of holographic memory, because what's important is the spatial content, not the topological content. The brain network is so dense that it's not a network anymore when you speak about storing information in it. It's like house that are so dense that you can jump from one roof to the other, without going through the roads. So roads are
used to process date coming from outside the village, and going outside the village, but if you stay in the village you don't need roads at all.

Now, let's explain what's the outcome of such blast in your brain.

When you will wake up, after the long stay in the device, you will feel nothing new, because you are not yourself anymore, and you can't remember your first life. The guy standing in front of you, coming from the other machine, the "donor", si now YOU, but with another body. You feel now as twins, you have the same rembering of your life, you think the same, you have exactly the same knowledge and intelligence. If he s sad, you are sad, if he is good, you are good, if he likes men, you will like men too.

You can also decide to copy only part of the brain, but it's more risky because that's a research area were we are not far, and it could be dangerous to outcome with overlapping memory, like, let's say, the top of you wife, and the bottom of your "loved boyfriend"!

of course we have to talk about it.Actually we have been trash-talking on OS topics for few months.But we still dont get start to writing the own ones.dont be rush,man.OS is a definitely tough hack in the phenomenon world.It will takes you few years even 10 years get involve with it.sounds hard,right? whatever you think how hard it is,that doenst means we could put it away from our hacking(routines).we still need to keep eyes on it.

You may doubt that how can we keep up with new tech in a fast-food world,while People just focus on things which turning to be rushsss.I dont wanna talk about how people get fucked by this world right now.Just noticed that hardware/software co-hacking are a bunch of logies(ontology,methodology,epistemology) that across the hardcore fields in computer science(and engineering) including OS,compilers,networking.The 3logies is the strongest paradigm which existing for xxxxxx years.It's cames from the most powerful book---The Holy Bible.The 1st time of Jews and Greek's cultural collision happend about 2300 years ago that historical event formed a new way of thinking which Abraham Joshua Heschel was call it "ellipse it revolves" that means we believed something cant to prove it by reasoning but by our pure faith to LORD(religion,theology),and the rest of knowledge we can figure it out by reasoning(philosophy).The interesting is Hebrew(希伯来) and Greek(希腊) are same root in CHinese:-)

Back to the topic.Im a monkey-coder,why do I need to know above?Because you will get different informations on different postions when you hack the kernel(or should I said OS design?).A simple explanation like this:
Ontology->Trying to figure it out what OS it is.
Methodology->trying to stand on different positions look into the paradigm of the OS.
Epistemology->trying to do above 2 again and again that would making a whole organic knowledge system for you.

On the other hand,different languages connected these different world views as same as OS design.Thinking about that,The relationships between the arch of OS itself,scheduler,kernel thread execution just like,you know what,I really wanna saying"Holy Father,Holy Son,Holy Spirit".is there any possibility to reduce those components less than 3?You could try it but it will be sucked.And why does conventional OS(monolithic,even microkernel) has to make a distinction between kernel space and user space?for security issues(sin)?oohh,aha,sinful man living in user space and trying to get some resources from kernel space by scheduler(JC?).pthread is a kind of execution which existing in phenomenon world and...you might know what I want to say,right?...kernel thread is really big stuff do things which sinful man cant go through with "real desert".I cant talk more because I cant give you a clear explanation about Philosophical-Theology Model in english(a world view trouble?).

What's different between conventional OS and exokernel[1]?a lot.really a lot.IMO,exokernel is a better PTM which get closer to "the truth".You'd better take a peek[2] on MIT exo website that provided some documentations(papers)[3].exokernel's model picturing a better world than current one.A meta-kernel has been made,then hackers(not cracker) can customizing their own kernel and build their own app on it.

As a OS amateur,need to keep your mind open and trying to get "a little bit" wisdom from the beautiful creations....wowo,it's been a long bullshit,I think I need to go to bed for reading "Joel on Software"(book)[4].

I have been doing some porting on ixp4xx(420) for weeks.the boring one is that port the network adapter to kernel-2.6.28.Perhaps there's many ways could be done this job.I tried compile the ixp4xx drivers into kernel-2.6.28.And needed to change a lot in driver code which for fit in the data structures of kernel high-speed changes.in the end,you still need the intel full of shits(accessLib and something else) to provided a link library for complete the compiliation of kernel.Because of Intel as big corporation would never like to accept spirit of GPL and they made a abstraction layer is called accessLib which is followed BSD-license.Intel wants to copping out GPL license and that was the way.The wrost thing is my cross-compiler cant not gernerate these libs.dont laugh on me,I have try more than 4 verions of cross-compilers that all failed.That's why I have to pick a easy way to done this job.That way is port the shit used by snapgear...Hope this roughly document could give you help!

1.Download snapgear-4.0 and extract the files into a folder of snapgear.Download GNU/Linux kernel 2.6.28,you need to move the kernel(after extracted) into directory of snapgear and changes the named of "linux-2.6.28" to "linux-2.6.x"(bash:mv linux-2.6.28 linux-2.6.x).

2.download snapgear-modules-20090807.sh,then move it to snapgear.you will get 4 files after execution(bash: ./snapgear-modules-20090807).And follow the "sexy" README files steps to patching your snapgear distro.

3.because of you wanna get npe modules that you have to add something to linux-2.6.x/Makefile.Find where vmlinux-dirs and vmlinux-alldirs are,and looks like this after correct edited:

4.if you dont wanna get a error like "/home/snapgear/modules/ixp425/net-2.4/ixp400_eth.c: In function 'port_disable': /home/snapgear/modules/ixp425/net-2.4/ixp400_eth.c:2836: error: implicit declaration of function 'kill_proc'",you need to edit the file of ixp400_eth.c.

5.continue to editing a right $(AWK) execution path.add vmlinux-only-dirs = $(filter-out /%,$(vmlinux-dirs)) into linux2.6.x/Makefile for a proper place and replace vmlinux-dirs with vmlinux-only-dirs.Only the second "vmlinux-dirs" need to be replaced that looks like this:

6.snapgear wouldnt gernerate a right path for ixp400_eth.ko.so you still need to change the linux-2.6.x/scripts/Makefile.modinst like this:

7.edit snapgear\modules\ixp425\ixp400-2.4\ixp400_xscale_sw\src\ethMii\IxEthMii_p.h.add "#define IX_ETH_MII_IP175C_PHY_ID 0x02430d80" near by behind the "/* supported PHYs */"

And,turn to the 172th line of snapgear\modules\ixp425\ixp400-2.4\ixp400_xscale_sw\src\ethMii\IxEthMii.c.Add "|| (ixEthMiiPhyId[i] == IX_ETH_MII_IP175C_PHY_ID)" to where behind the "|| (ixEthMiiPhyId[i] == IX_ETH_MII_RTL8305SC_PHY_ID)"

I tested a version of which doesnt made the changes and snapgear pop up some error.But the network adapter is still works.I dont know what exactly effect on it.

8.you will get a compile error "/home/snapgear/modules/ixp425/net-2.4/ixp400_eth.c:2025: error: implicit declaration of function '_netif_rx_schedule_prep'" when you select the NAPI option.

The solution is edit ixp400_eth.c,before edited：

finnlay,you need to type a few command lines after booting the ixp4xx-board:

dont even think that you have done all works of port.of course no~your ixp420 needed 2 network cables plug into 2 RJ-45 interfaces which one for TX and another for RX.I dont figure it out yet.Im still hacking on it.I found out that some functions which writing datas into registers of ip175c net chip got something wrong.Now the ixp4xx can writing the data correctly but still cant send or receive the datas from network within one network adapter.

1973年10月的北欧,秋天的季节让人觉得很是舒服,一位名叫Pekka Himanen的小家伙诞生了,如果按照正确的推断,他应该是诞生在了一个犹太家庭,这个小家伙的童年鲜为人知,或许人们也不太关心一个普通人的童年,但随着时间的飞驰,在1989年信息时代的源头降生在这个地球上,在这一年,柏林墙倒塌了,墙的两极的人们可以像他们的祖先日尔曼人一样的畅通无阻的进行哲学,宗教,艺术,经济等话题的探讨,但人们最难预料的事情就是从这一年开始,之后的信息量的膨胀将会以前所未有的速度席卷整个人类的思维,之后的10年,人们经历了太多太多,庞大的苏联的解体,波斯湾战争中美军的全新作战模式,万维网的诞生,信息高速公路的建设,以及自由软件和开源有了明确的定义.这一切的一切,好像是古代的先祖们根本无法想象的,但今天那些无法想象的事物就在我们面前,人们应该如何来面对这短短的10年间所经历的一切.

Shawn想我们应该先把思维跳回到大约100年以前,不然很难理解今天所面临的时代所展现在我们面前的错综复杂的关系,就像一位哲人所言"如果停止对形而上的重构,我们将失去未来的方向".1904年,一位来自德国的犹太人Max Webber出版了那本旷世著作<新教伦理与资本主义精神>,这里请允许Shawn简要的介绍一下书中所阐述内容的背景铺垫,16世纪的德国,一位伟大的日尔曼战士型神学家Martin Luther(路德),由于不满天主教对圣经原意的曲解,勇敢的发起了宗教改革(您或许对Martin的形象感到迷惑,这样吧,您如果看到了"德国战车"的主唱,就能想象到Martin,他是绝对的欧洲北方人的风格).之后由于历史的诸多原因,在日内瓦的John Calvin(加尔文)响应了那伟大战士的号召,他认为是时候接受上帝的带领与错误的教训征战了,他花了最短的时间完成了一部历史上对人类最重要的著作之一<基督教要义>,此书里详细的记录了圣经里非常多的总原则作为进行哲学思辨的绝对标准.....而加尔文主义把这一思想从日内瓦->荷兰->英国->美国->日本,建立了现代的三权分立的社会体制.当然,也因为这本著作,滋生了资本主义财团的兴起.而<新教伦理与资本主义精神>则是在新教伦理在遍及了欧洲和北美之后诞生的,如果从今天的标准来看,世界上只要受工业化影响的地区,不管这一地区的人们是否信仰基督教,他们都普遍遵循新教伦理.

1994年,当年的那个小家伙已经长大成人,Pekka因为是芬兰最年轻的PHD毕业生,所以也小有名气,但这跟他后来做得事情相比就显得微不足道了.2000年,一本为人类在新的纪元提供了指引的,也是与100年前Webber的那本<新教伦理与资本主义精神>遥相呼应的----<黑客伦理与信息时代精神>在第三纪元的开端时完成了.这为人们在21世纪,这个被称为"后工业时代","资讯时代","信息爆炸的时代"下生活的人们提供了一个重要的范式,这个范式关乎到人们在未来怎么样去建立自己的伦理关,怎么样完成从新教伦理到黑客伦理的范式的转移.可惜的是,人性天生是败坏,愚蠢的,在刚开始只有犹太人和少数的西方人积极的备战以应付信息时代的来临,之后Google成为了人们生活必不可少的部分,越来越多的黑客们加入了slashdot的讨论,而黑客伦理则已惊人的速度向非IT行业渗透,艺术行业产生了类似自由软件GPL的变种---创作共享(creative commons),MIT则在2001年开始了开放课程计划,之后Berkely,Yale等常春藤高校都陆续的开始了开放课程计划,开放课程很好的帮助到了第三世界国家的年轻人探索人生的意义,而更多的人也开始接受了黑客伦理,犹太人,盎格魯-撒克遜人,日尔曼人,高卢人,斯拉夫人,日本人和少数的非洲年轻人都陆续的接受了这个时代势不可挡的伦理观,人们开始也逐渐的学习在互联网的探讨中保持对对方的尊重,更多的年轻人也参与到把自己的经验分享到互联网社区的运动中.但遗憾的是,人们没有继续使用"hacker"(黑客)这个词,因为主流媒体曾经误认为黑客就是破坏者(cracker),在一些时日里媒体们选用了"geek"这个词,但到了最近的一些研讨会,商业界开始把接受黑客伦理的一代都统称为"digital native",即IT世代.

今天的来自世界各地的年轻人们,在youtube上看着常春藤大学的开放课(比如youtube上很受欢迎的Political Science和耶鲁大学哲学系的death)和上传自己制作的各式各样的video,在facebook上讨论自己感兴趣的话题和交到了不少的朋友,他们有时也用twitter发布自己的个人新闻,也有不少商业奇才使用了互联网平台为个人赚取金钱,当然也有像Shawn这种相对老土的只在blogspot上写写blog和在mailinglist里跟一堆怪人吵吵闹闹.

这不正是黑客伦理所描述的场景吗?是.很完美了吗?不是,因为世界还有太多的不公正,财团还在继续的腐蚀着世界,酱缸教依然奴役着绝大多数的中国人,或许您会惊讶为什么还有如此多的人被这个世代的多样性弄的踹不够气来,这---或许就是重构形而上的必要.Shawn坚信黑客伦理是这个时代的年轻人所必须要遵循的社会伦理,这是一个公共的交流平台,从某种程度上讲,没有它我们无法真正进行有意义的交流,难道还要回到酱缸教的怀抱?但在这里Shawn必须指出的是,仅仅只有黑客伦理是绝对不够的,因为这只是必须的公共交流平台,但是在此之后要想找到跟人生意义有关的事物,我们必须要回归到形而上的本质界去探寻,这个形而上曾经构造出了新教伦理和黑客伦理,但只有智慧人才被允许触及的到,最后Shawn引用希伯来圣经旧约箴言9章10节说:敬畏耶和华是智慧的开端，认识至圣者便是聪明!"

愿荣耀都归于圣父,圣子,圣灵---三位一体的上帝!!!

送走了老婆,和另外一位好兄弟也是Neo-Calvinist---Mr.F踏上了去武汉的火车,此行的目的只有一个---找洪峰老师论道,此行的兴奋真是可以从当时的blog看出,但由于后来发现与事实不符,所以那次的blog被Shawn删掉了,这也是Shawn写blog到此删除的第一篇blog.即使有些article上有"5毛党"和pornie spam的情况Shawn也没有删除文章.武汉回来后,一直在处理公司的一些繁杂的事情.

一个月的沉闷的日子里,几乎只干两件事情---读神哲学和处理公司杂事.在之后一些的时间里开始关注事物本体与永恒性之间的关系.到了三月份,Shawn开始增加了一些hacks,比如开始阅读How to Designed Program和尝试安装了那个鼎鼎大名的GNU/Linux distro---gentoo.

经过了几个月的持久战后,公司一个后遗症项目最终完成........之后去了HongKong,这是一座神奇的城市,100多年以前贫穷落后,那时的白人对亚洲人的确不太像对待一个人,感谢上帝的是,在包括圣公会在内的基督教归正宗派也进入了这个城市,他们跟那些商人,政客不太一样,他们积极的参与社会改善,为今天的HK奠定了基础,到20世纪70年代,廉政公署的成立和那一代居住在HK的基督徒对村屋社区的改造,包括在物质上帮助他们和传耶酥基督的福音给他们.之后的HK成为了亚洲之星......但今天HK的基督徒不知道还有多少人在持守上帝的道?

在武汉的待了刚好70天,其实一直在想到底是否写关于个人对黑客道和洪峰老师的评论,迟迟没有写,因为这个问题不是几句话能描述的清楚的,对于那段时间的经历Shawn只能作两点总结:
1,洪峰老师的方法论的确非常棒,让Shawn至少在这一块节省了3年的时间,但这些方法论经过Shawn和朋友们的研讨会讨论,的确不是全部出自洪峰老师原创,有部分是的确在MIT的资源上是可以找到的,而黑客道对于哲学部分的描述比较狭义,只是参照了中国先秦的哲学,不可否认先秦哲学是优秀的,但造出计算机和各种复杂设计的却是犹太-基督教式的神哲学方法论.
2,从道德层面上看,Shawn作为基督徒,同时也是加尔文主义,实在是无法接受洪峰老师关于厚黑学的人生哲学,或许他有难处.

深圳,跟ginrut谈了许久,无数的问题和无数的讨论,我们都很年轻,我们都很浮躁,我们都受这个该死的世界的影响...我们找到了lambda Calculus和OS的神哲学模型,接下来的问题是:拼死找神哲学模型到底有什么用?光有这2个用处不大,但是犹太人是碰撞出了无数个aha之后才这么厉害的,或许你是做金融的,他是做法律的,我是做艺术的,但我们都有一个共通的目标去搞清楚2个问题:1,我的工作的领域的本质是什么? 2,这个本质跟我的人生意义是什么?....所有人都在尝试把自己做的回归到神哲学模型,而这个过程就体现了Martin BUrber所谈到的"I and thou"和"religion and religiosity"的关系,因为我的存在(I),所以我(I)敬畏你(thou),因为你(thou)是耶和华,是智慧,战士,公义,慈爱,创造本体的上帝.你给予了我们一切的可能性(possiblity),所以外在的宗教(religion)是会腐朽的,但是唯有对你(thou)的敬虔(religiosity)可以持续的给外在注入新的动力,就如一棵树要生长在溪水旁...当这个爱智慧的过程中,分享给周围的人,周围的人也分享给你,aha就在这个时候诞生,而无数个aha的融合就构成了一个强大的团体,一个没有aha的民族是没有未来的民族.这种方法论已经在老牌的4大财团中接受了考验---犹太,WASP,日尔曼,斯拉夫...就连最近些年正在崛起的日本财团也融合了中国先秦和犹太-基督教的方法论,可惜我们只看到了日本的大东京文化...

之后讨论到了第3世界国家的开放教育问题,Shawn很欣赏印度模式,不像中国这么浮躁,很少有仇富心态,治安也很不错.在bangalore那些破的只能在墨西哥看到的小酒吧里印度的年轻人成群的聚在哪里搞研讨会,话题包括了世界政治,科技,哲学,艺术,etc....仿佛MIT的年轻人跑到了墨西哥的小酒吧一样...相信经济发展能解决一切问题的家伙不是脑袋浸水就是缺了哪根神经,中国沿海的人均收入远远高于印度和拉美各国,但印度人发起了openRisc,连拉丁美洲的家伙也搞了很多意想不到的hacks,中国人还在喊"GDP还不够,我们没有他们富裕....

当然也谈到了自由软件社区的问题,Linus是个对公众不太负责的人,这点跟RMS根本不一样,Linux的kernel到未来很有可能封闭作为商业使用,如果不是GNU工具链的支撑Linux kernel早会投向专利的怀抱,大众今天只知道Linux,却很少知道GNU,但其实GNU才是重点,如果没有了linux kernel,还可以有其他的kernel选择,但如果没有了GNU那简直不敢想像,就如圣经所言,世界大部分人都是愚民...Shawn计划1-2年后开始转向其他的kernel,GNU/HURD之类的吧...Linux kernel如果真的封闭,Google应该是他们最强大的对手,谁都知道G的kernel和GNU工具链的定制是一流的,现在搞的CHrome和Go语言只是开始吧........不过好消息是G code上的project已经有50%决定新的版本转向GPLv3,这可能是今年最值得乐观的一个消息吧

how to port guile from Intel cpu to mips(ported-version for b_nn).We need 2 things:
1.openWrt of ben_nanoNote
2.guile-1.4's source code

$../guile-1.4/configure --host=mipsel-openwrt-linux --with-cc=mipsel-openwrt-linux-gcc --with-linker=mipsel-openwrt-linux-ld --prefix=/hfg/guile-x
$grep -r CC= *

Now,you need to modify every files what you see from the list.from "CC= gcc" to "mipsel openwrt-linux-gcc".

$grep -r LD= *

Still do ur modifying from "LD= ld" to "mipsel-openwrt-linux-ld".Actually,you still need to modify very Makefile.

if you got a error something like this".....bin/ld:cant found -lreadline".before run the below cmd,please copy the readline.so and ncurses.so to your specify folder(-B your_folder_name):

为什么要hiking?不可否认Shawn受了into the wild的影响,此次hiking也够奇怪的,Shawn原本打算此次hiking把一个困扰已久的问题想通---OES(open education system).结果上帝开了个大玩笑,出发前2天小猫跑过来跟Shawn讲了一大堆他最近的心得和推荐了本书,那天晚上Shawn豁然开朗,问题基本解决,剩下的只是磨时间的问题.

那这次hiking的意义是什么呢?到出发Shawn也没有想通,只是凭着一丁点亚伯拉罕式的信心相信上帝会预备丰盛的道路.在路上经过的大部分的确都是农村和山区,在看那本DND的书时也介绍到DND的早期贡献者都是来自北美的农村,他们的创造性为什么会如此的厉害?思想的细节太多,不太想在这里分享,有空就face to face的交流.

二郎山隧道口,徒步37km后已经进入"半残废"状态

上一次来到木格措是2001年5月,这个地方让Shawn爱上了高原,这8年以来Shawn心目中唯一的净土就是这里,当时这里没有公路,没有嘈杂的施工队,只有森林,蓝天和高原湖泊,今天的木格措依然漂亮,但已经无法跟8年前相比,此次旅行Shawn最盼望有"aha"的地方令Shawn有些失望,就如switchfoot的那首"the beautiful letdown",在地上的失望越多,在天上的盼望就越多.

进入了密林,这是一条人没有走过的森林,这次徒步在这里Shawn险些就去见上帝了,看来Shawn还得继续去探寻人生意义,这条密林大约需要走700--1000米左右,我们在这里折腾了90分钟左右,这次是在没有带丛林砍刀和手套的环境下顺利通过的,应该算Shawn野外hacking难度系数最高的一次.

WOW世界里的荆棘谷令很多gamer记忆深刻,这才Shawn遇到了真实版本的荆棘谷,幸亏上帝没有在这里放几个野猪人,不然......

The Epistemology before start writing book's review

由于一些原因Shawn决定未来的一些时候开始认真地写书评,也阅读了很多书籍,涵盖了各个领域,从神学到哲学,艺术,音乐,历史,自由软件,社会伦理,科普读物,etc.种类繁多,阅读了这些书籍的内容之后大概有几种情况:

1.很快遗忘

2.选择性遗忘,记住了一些,顶多当扩充了知识面

3.掌握了"不可忘记"的知识,进入个人方法论和认识论的知识结构

4.融入生命

Shawn大部分属于前3种情况,而如果是一本书对你的意义属于第3和第4,那Shawn认为有必要认真地思考后把思想的结果记录和分享.最近苦修式的生活给Shawn很多思考的时间,在这里感觉整个时间停顿下来了,可以放胆去思想以前"来不及"和"不愿坦诚面对"的问题,虽然这种生活不会持续很长的时间,但Shawn还是真切的赞美那三位一体的上帝.Shawn这次是真实的认识和体会到了:知识不能改变生命,惟有谦卑在基督面前,祈求基督进入你的生命并且作你的救主和掌管你生命的主,你的生命才可能得到改变,知识如果没有受到真理之光的光照会变得黯然无色.Shawn也认识到了上帝的爱的属性是何等的重要,在这一点上Shawn必须向上帝忏悔,Shawn应该更多的去接受弟兄姐妹(其他基督徒),而不是以自我认识的那一点点圣经知识作为衡量标准,即使弟兄姐妹真地不那么可爱,Shawn还是应该爱他们,如果Shawn只爱符合Shawn人生哲学的家伙们,那Shawn岂不是与大部分非信徒一样了.还有太多的思考过程暂时不在这里分享,这一思想过程的结果之一就是让Shawn决定要开始写书评,而在写review之前关于认识论的问题必须作出一些说明,可能术语有些枯燥,但相信一定对人生意义是有益处的.

ok,首先来谈谈知识的构造方法,不同的哲学体系和不同的世界观都造就了不同的构造知识的方法,一些存在主义者提倡以存在意义作为思考的基本模式进行建立新的事物的认知的方法,而更多的经验主义者只是以不同的角度作为"体会"经验"从而获得了对新事物的认知,认识论是一个很复杂的系统,在这里Shawn主要提供2种最基本的思考范式从而尽量简洁的描述这一问题:

1,柏拉图式的思考,即关注本质,从本体论的角度来进行分析问题.

2,亚里士多德式的思考,即关注方法本身,以逻辑为基础来解决问题.

柏拉图曾经讲过"academic只有2样财产:1,亚里士多德的头脑;2,其他学生的身体".亚里士多德对柏拉图那种探讨形而上和理念实在论的思辨方式大为不满,所以他讲"我爱我的老师,但我更爱真理".所以之后在亚里士多德的哲学观中,以逻辑学为基础的认识论是主要的探索问题的方式.这里提到的柏拉图式和亚里士多德式是广义的讲法,并不是指这2位先哲的方法论本身,而是作为一个延伸.eg:讨论勇敢的行为是亚里士多德式的探讨,而讨论勇气则是柏拉图式的.讨论人生意义是什么是柏拉图式,而关注怎么样去解决实现人生意义中所遇到的问题是亚里士多德式.

希腊哲学史非常的伟大,但遗憾的是从毕达哥拉斯对自然建立认知过程的思辨,到普罗泰戈拉以早期存在主义式的探讨都没有把主要精力花在认知事物的基础上,直到值得尊敬的苏格拉底讲"一个人认知世界的基础是认知自己."后打破了原有的模式,之后进入了希腊三圣的时期,柏拉图和
亚里士多德都以不同的方式诠释着认识论,但始终有一个问题希腊人无法解决:怎么样来认知自己?.上帝的安排非常的奇妙,希腊三圣时期时遗留下来的这一个极其困难的问题困扰着人们,其中一些人选择了怀疑论者,另外一些人选择了不可知论者,也有一些人直接忽略掉这个令人烦恼的问题,直到公元前180年左右,由于两希(希腊和希伯来)文化的碰撞,希腊人发现希伯来人和旧约圣经中的叙述性的世界观和哲学超越了希腊哲学无法解决的问题,所以一些希腊人接受犹太人方法论的同时也接受了犹太人的信仰,即信仰旧约中的那位上帝耶和华,他们就是这次文化碰撞所产生的Hasidim派,也就是新约圣经中所提到的"敬虔一派",这一次文化的碰撞造就了今天犹太人在很多领域非常厉害的原因.此后的部分犹太人吸收了希腊人哲学思辨的特点,加上他们原有的神学反证的传统---圣经作为绝对标准来衡量一切事物包括知识,智慧,哲学,社会,etc.犹太人变得很强大,圣经以外的作品提到犹太人时通常只有赞扬,但请记住耶稣基督对有深厚神哲学功底的法例赛人讲"你们这些假冒伪善的人",这意味着其他民族对以色列人的赞美并不代表他们符合上帝的标准.

现在已经对这段历史作了简要介绍,为什么Shawn要把这段历史放到认识论中的探讨呢?因为这里有一个非常简单但又是大部分人会忽略的地方:当我们在认知的过程中,提前已经有了一个假设,即绝对标准.而这个前设绝对的影响了整个认知的过程,但这个前设本身又是人类有限的理性无法了解的,而犹太人把这种绝对标准的前设定义为按照他们理解方式的希伯来旧约圣经,但在现实中要行出绝对标准所定义的生命又是何等的困难,需要能够"切实可行"的方法,这就是希腊哲学的意义所在.这段历史可以给我们一幅图画:犹太人是神学反证式的(柏拉图式),而希腊人则是哲学式的(亚里士多德式).从人本的看待,这是犹太文化超越中国先秦哲学的分水岭,这个问题有机会Shawn更愿意face to face的交流.

关于讲解前设的神学作品除了圣经以外可以参阅圣奥古斯丁的(忏悔录)和(上帝之城),约翰加尔文的(基督教要义).哲学领域西方哲学Shawn暂不作推荐,但作为中国人先秦时期的作品是应该认真阅读的,这里Shawn也简要的介绍一下先秦哲学的核心:道.中国先秦哲学里蕴涵着丰富的哲学思辨,先秦哲学的核心就是"论道",道是无形的,道看似无为,而又无所不为.(老子)以玄学的方式在解释着(易经),这里顺便解释一下"玄"这个字,在古字中,这个字的意思是"元",英文meta,请注意metaphysical是形而上的意思;在古希腊哲学中,"logos"代表信息的本源,也是人类有限理性无法触及的领地,也就是"道"的意思,而"logy"则代由"logos"派生出来的实际可以由我们的理性明白的事物,比psychology(心理学),geology(地质学),biology(生物学),etc,其实中文不应该翻译成"心理学","生物学",而应该翻译成"心理道","生物道",(老子)的开篇就是"道,可道.非,常,道","道,可道"就是logy,而"非,常,道"是logos.关于对先秦哲学(易经)的描述可以参考Shawn以前的笔记.

讲了一大堆基础的关于Shawn的个人认识论(知识论),应该可以开始写书评了,估计一段时间后吧,Shawn很懒,其实很羡慕苏格拉底都不用写什么东西就已经哲学思想表达的很清晰了,请不要把主耶稣基督跟苏格拉底对比,根本没有可比性,基督的那句对尼哥底姆讲的话就已经道出了基督跟

所有的哲学家不在一个层面上的实在.最后Shawn再次重申"知识不能改变生命,惟有耶稣基督可以改变你的生命"

2,天主教的世界观中强调以艺术性的方式诠释世界,艺术家们通过对艺术性本身的一种强烈追求而产生的作品.此类作品有强烈的个人人生哲学的表达.
3,结合前2者.以Shawn的低水平至今还没有发现到这样的黑暗艺术作品.

首先谈谈哲学观对于我们认知事物的影响,认知科学的基础就是找出异同关系,道在最早时处于混沌状态,道要可道的第一步就是化分领域的界限,比如科学(sicence),哲学(philosophy),etc.而第二步则是探讨非科学(non-sicence),非哲学(non-philosophy),etc的这种"非我"的形态.从本质上,也是一种信息的传递,而在这一方法中又有四个必须面对的问题:
1,主体.进行认知过程的人.
2,客体.被进行认知过程的人进行认知的事物(包含上帝,自己,人和物质).
3,环境.进行认知的人必须被限定的范围内.
4,媒介.通过人的五官等媒介进行信息传递.

系统,即广义的硬件和广义的软件的复合;在认知系统的过程中就会有更加直接的方法可
以参考:
以计算主义在面对DNA配对关系问题为例,
1,观察.对DNA配对的本身进行观察.
2,实验.用物理的仪器对DNA进行实验.
3,推理.通过观察和实验建立有效的计算模型,他们假设了一个前提,即如果人类有一台计算
能力为2的78次方的"终极量子计算机",那这个问题是可解决的,反之既然.
4,计算.由于这个问题的计算量是3的500次方,因此放弃计算.

之后谈到了数学中的分类,大类主要分为:集合论,组合数学,数理逻辑,图论,代数结构.集合
论主要是研究确定行止的对象.而数理逻辑中又分为了几个主要的分支:
1,证明论;
2,公理集合论;
3,递归论;
4,模型论

之后谈到了数学的一些方法,比如分析,拓扑和概率.当然变分变法变是最有趣的一个思想试验,
我们无法观测到这个世界的本质一样,即蚂蚁以二维的方式无法观测到生活在三维空间的人类,而人类也无法理解更高层的世界.这个我想需要更多的了解了数学史可以有更加深入的思考.

之后谈到了中国先秦哲学<易经>对于现代数学的类比,道是无形的,道看似无为,却又无所不为.但站在人类有限理性的角度去认知道的本身是一件很难的事情,所以我们只能认识到那有限的"道,可道"(logy),却无法看清楚"非,常,道"(logos),在这种境况下古代的先哲们也有自己的方法去了解这个世界,即异同和对比的方法,简单的来讲,也就是先认知到混沌中的边界:阴和阳.

之后以此为基础去推导出这个宇宙的规律如下:
阳是physical,阴是metaphysical.
阳:阳,古字(正),可知.
阴:阳,古字(常),常态.
阳:阴,古字(奇),不可测度,cant measurable.
阴:阴,古字(浑),不可知.

阴和阳再与以上的结果对比,最后就产生了八卦:
乾,古字(天),集合A,辖域.
坤,古字(地),集合B隶属于集合A.
天地乃时空的描述.<老子>上讲"人法地,地法天,天法道,道法自然",也就是说站在人最低级的
位置,只需要地就可以作为人的尺度,而人透过对天地的认识建立了时空观,在希伯来旧约圣经
里谈到"地"时也指的是低级的价值和刻度,如"不要思念地上的事","人终归于尘土"即非永恒性的事物,而在犹太人的文化中探寻永恒性是重要的.

2,客观性的存在,即实在存在(existing theory),客观真理是存在的,客观真理是不由主动观察的主体(人类)的意志而变化,比如宇宙中最基本微粒的碰撞所形成的今天这个物质世界的事件在人类能够观察以前就已经存在.

不过以上2者到最终都必须面对一个极其困难但又是至关重要的问题,即存在的意义是什么?或者说存在的意义是谁赋于的?

感謝主,此次HK之行的目標都已達到,見到了唐牧師,還有機會跟他交流了一刻鐘,他對待年輕人還是非常的嚴格,跟歸正信仰有衝突的地方他依然是一針見血地指出,不會給你留任何面子.Shawn從心底敬佩這樣的人,為了真理可以不順從這個世界的標準,Shawn或許也注定是這樣的命運.唐牧師每週二在HK尖沙咀浸信會堂講約翰福音查經,雖然已經看他的video接近2年,這次算是face to face來聽他講道,在講解一些例子的時候可以看出唐牧師引用丹麥神學家和存在主義大哲學家Soren Kierkegarrd的方法論的同時,也不斷地用聖經的經文來進行反證,畢竟Kierkegarrd再厲害也只是人本的思考.

這次也買到了Wild at heart(我心狂野)這本好書,當然還有聖經的研讀版本(採用了歸正宗神學的解釋,美中不足是採用的新譯本).在這裡夠買神學和哲學的書籍倒是很多.去旺角的那家基督教書店買書,那裡空氣簡直太痛苦了,鼻敏感又來了,看到地鐵站標了當時的空氣指數:93.由於計算方法跟中國大陸和國際衛生組織的都不一樣,反正就是93已經算很高了,差不多10um以內的微粒都有180ug/m3.HK畢竟跟大部分亞洲城市(bangalore除外)一樣,很物質化,這是Shawn不喜歡的,Shawn對這裡的FOSS community(HK LUG)也很失望,比起北京(BLUG)差距太遠,交通(地鐵幾乎可以到大部分地區)和購物(到處都是商店,品質大部分還不錯)雖然不錯,但相信生活在這個城市的hacker應該不會太多,真不知道這裡有多少人在思考人生意義(lifeview,worldview).大部分HK人應該已經忘記了聖公會, 就像大部分上海人忘記了天主教一樣.Shawn真的希望亞洲多一些加爾文主義,那怕只是一些在對人生進行嚴肅思考的傢伙也好.

I begun to read the htdp about 1 week ago.It's a amazing book that give you a way to explain what is computing by simplicity.The implementation of the computing cases are used by a little old computer language which is scheme that invented by Gerald Sussman who is a great computer science professor in MIT.Lisp is the second oldest language in computer field which designed by John McCarthy who is a student of Alonzo Church that he is a author of lambda calculus.Scheme is one of the best dialect of lisp.

Linux has a lot of distros around the world.The first time I used Linux is Red hat 9,then I was turning into debian.I have use Fedora in past 2 years.Becuase it's pretty easy to use which is it doesnt needed spend more time for compile the source code by youself.

Today is a big day.I have try out install the most difficult linux i ever heard---gentoo.A friend told me that it is a real hacker's distro.Although it's none of business about whether you are a hacker and which linux distro you using.ANd it still worthy to try.Im installed the gentoo in VirtualBox which is a virtual machine software developed by Sun Microsystem(also under GPLv2).I was watching a movie which named of Revolution OS while it compiling the gentoo kernel.what a enjoy life!

mzscheme with CGI

I have write a simple CGI today,that was my first time writen and successful running on my laptop.This is my notes that you probably could take a look.It's quite easy more than imagine.

you need 2 tools if you want to write a CGI in scheme:apache and plt-scheme.
Firstable,download the apache server here.Then go Installation that follow steps and run the command on terminal:

mv httpd-2.0.63 apache　　
cd apache　　
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2 --enable-module=so　　
make　　
make install

"--enable-module=so" means that your apache will support DSO capabibliy.

ok.There's a last thing you have to do that it's configurate your httpd.conf file:

Now you got your own~Then you can go to install mzscheme.(read the installation document)

其实关于永恒性和灵性关系的问题是在和一些追求本质的朋友(包括一位弟兄)讨论世界世俗化和教会世俗化的题目开始的,讨论这样的问题让人感到绝望,感觉到这个世界是堕落的,违反道德律和自然律的,但是为什么被称为"地上暂时的家"的教会也跟着世界在不断的世俗化呢?关于这个问题本身Shawn曾经也是持很悲观的态度,但在去年一年中看到了很多非信徒对待圣经的严谨程度超乎了Shawn的想象,而上帝有时候也使用非信徒完成基督徒不愿意做的事情.

Shawn开始思考是什么决定了一个人对待人生的态度的严肃性,用现代主义的德国大哲学家康德(Immanuel Kant)的思想来表述就是:认真的对待永恒不变的星空(自然律)和内心深处测不透的良心(道德律).用伟大的中国前秦哲学家老子的思想来表述就是:顺道而行!那么决定一个人对待4大关系的态度的是理性吗?不对,大学里有一些教授还跟一些年轻的女学生鬼混在一起,他们理性如此的棒而道德如此的败坏.
那是感性?断乎不是,法国的大思想家帕斯卡尔(Pascal)讲到过消遣之危险,人都需要有感性情感的满足,所以人们有了各种各样party和club来满足他们的情感,这里Shawn讲一个故事:Brad是一个普通的中产阶层的职业经理人,忙碌的工作后想要找地方去消遣relax一下,但觉得只有去教会是成本最低的,因为那里的人都很nice,而且还免费的可乐(diet coke)和匹萨(pizza),去那里精神上好像也得到了满足,所以他几乎每周都去教会,4年后,Brad因为公司的上市赚了很多钱,他现在有很多朋友和很多消遣的选择,从经以后他再也没有去教会了.像Brad这种人去教会的应该很少,但抱有这样心态的弟兄姐妹去聚会的却很多,我们必须要搞明白是什么吸引我们去教会,如果不是上帝的道的话那很危险,像Brad这种人去参加教会活动感性情感可以得到满足吗?Yes,但他们因此对待人生意义的探讨严谨起来了吗?No

那是什么决定你的人生态度?为什么那些非信徒对待真理的态度会那么的严谨?灵性,可以解释成你与上帝的关系,灵性是高于理性和感性的,今天的一些教会用花言巧语拉人入教,或者用开party的方式让人到教会来,以满足他们的感性情感的需求,到教会来扩大社交而可以在生意上有发展,以满足他们的头脑理性的需求.这样的确可以让教会看起来有很多人,但是像Brad那种心态是上帝所不喜悦的.

这里Shawn请你必须注意一点:能够造就灵性的绝对是要具有永恒性的事物.那么哪些是具有永恒性的呢?
1,圣经的本意,字句让人死,精意让人活.(他叫我们能承当这新约的执事，不是凭著字句，乃是凭著精意。因为那字句是叫人死，精意是叫人活（注：“精意”或作“圣灵”林后3:6）
2,一些巴洛克时代的音乐.为什么讲音乐是具有永恒性的?这个话题对Shawn来讲太难以解释,如果从Shawn自己来讲,老婆从我们开始交往就让SHawn戒烟(quit smoking),但一直没有去做的心志,但因为有一段时间迷恋上了Geoge Friedrich Handel的Water Music Wassermusik和Johann Pachelbel的Canon and Gigue in D major for 3 violins and Basso Continuo,那段时间几乎每天晚上回家后就开始反复的听,那种音乐把你带向一个赋有诗意的世界,那个世界与这个世界是不一样的世界,在暂时中享受永恒界的片刻,让你感受到灵感不是来自物质界比如smoking.唐崇荣牧师曾经讲过Handel-Messiah是灵性最高的音乐,关于这一点Shawn愚笨还无法听出.
3,计算(数学),计算的魅力无庸置疑,这个宇宙的无时无刻都在计算之中,音乐能够传到我们的耳朵也是因为某些看不见的算法组成,超越二元(比如波粒二象性和费米子玻色子对称)的宇宙观在东西方文化里都有出现,当然那是属于形而上的.而这个物质的宇宙不能完全的去观测这个宇宙的构成也是自然,解构主义在某中程度上解释了这一点:方法论不能解构方法论本身.当然东方的老子在道德经里也是有记载:人,地,天都有其他参照物作为自己的尺度,而唯有道是以自己作为尺度.而圣经第一次清楚的记录超越二元对称的上帝---三位一体的真神,是在创世纪的亚伯拉罕献以撒,如有兴趣请阅读圣奥古斯丁(st.Augestine)最重要的著作之一:The Trinity(论三位一体).如果计算本身是不能在物质界被解构的,那么Shawn相信计算是具有永恒性的.RMS讲"People will program for Love.".康德曾经谈到即时物质的世界都被毁灭,只有音乐和数学会漂浮上地面.

上面所谈到的圣经的精义可以肯定是具有永恒性的,那是上帝的话语,但是对于音乐和计算Shawn个人坚信是具备永恒性的.只有永恒性才可以造就灵性,但生活在今天的我们到底有多大程度上受到过具有永恒性事情的影响是值得思考的.

Shawn能够用言语描述的就这些了,希望能对弟兄姐妹和追求真理的朋友们有帮助.

Jan 2007,Shawn开始了对jsp和servlet的学习,但跟2006年学习.net一样,大概持续到了2007年3月份就停止了,Shawn在2004年底开始接触programming的原因是因为读了Master OF Doom---一本让Shawn回忆起童年趣事的书,1994年10月开始玩id的游戏到2004年10月刚好10年的时间,上帝的安排很奇妙!Shawn一开始学习程序设计是为了作出一些游戏的mod,到了2005年下半年发现mod很难赚钱,而对自由的追求一直在Shawn的inside里有了印记.而后放弃了游戏mod的开发的学习,而转入去学习"时髦"的.net,但Shawn当时对microsoft总觉得不爽,所以之后为了跟ms"保持距离"而投入了java的阵营,在2007年2月那段时间里每天都在思考程序设计到底为了什么,那时Shawn已经信主超过2年,从内心有一种呼召(the Call),那段时间每天60支cigarattes,感谢上帝!2007年3月份
Shawn读了那本ESR的The Art of Unix Programming,上帝总是借着非信徒的手来让Shawn明白一些圣经的总原则.之后就是毕业后的选择:money or freedom.你们应该知道Shawn的选择:)

2007年6月,对于Shawn来讲是一个人生的转折,第一次接触到了Reformed Theology(归正神学),上帝在此之前的3年里不断预备了Shawn的心,信主的头2年研读了一些关于数学和物理跟圣经之间的关系,第3年阅读了Jaspers对哲学的诠释和关于Pascal的一些文献.最后归正神学让Shawn一直不断的进行归正,那时Shawn才开始逐渐明白世界博弈的复杂性.

2007年中,Jeff花时间给Shawn讲解linux kernel,让Shawn对low-level tech有所了解.2007是沉闷的一年,一直到了年末Shawn阅读了硅谷禁书和黑客伦理,所以Shawn向上帝pray并且对于文化使命作出承诺,具体是什么了解Shawn的战友们都清楚.

2008年1月5日,Shawn辞职开始创业,合伙人xy是个干劲十足的家伙,没有他的冲劲Shawn也无法真的迈出这一步,虽然和xy的合作不长仅8个月,也带来了一些麻烦,但还是感谢主的安排!

2008年地震后,HF正式成立,本想2008年年末开始,但万军之耶和华的命令是不可怠慢的,正如希伯来书所讲"落在永生上帝的手里,真是可怕!",这里Shawn还是提醒主内的弟兄姐妹,上帝的属性不光只有爱,父神那大而可畏的右手让渺小的人类感到恐惧.

2008年Shawn的收获是开始意识到诠释宇宙的4层模型(数学->物理->哲学<=>归正神学)和方法论的重要性.

Shawn感谢上帝在2007年通过ESR让Shawn明白了作为个人去寻求人生意义和文化使命的关系,2008年又通过RMS让Shawn明白了为什么自由软件的自由必须放在伦理和道德的层面来讨论.这2位都不是基督徒,但所作的事情强过于很多基督徒,很可惜,当年的基督徒都不愿意站出来做圣经的文化使命,而上帝就使用了一个非信徒,一位伟大的战士---Richard M.Stallman

现实生活中,Shawn也看到了像ginrut这样的非信徒---为了追求人生的意义,研读神哲学方法论,对真理的探寻的严谨程度超过了Shawn认识的大部分基督徒.也有像defTsp这样的对自由软件超乎常人的热爱,可以待在一个地方研究基础的数学,Functional programming(lisp),AI超过3年的家伙.这只能更加的说明上帝的恩典是白白赐予基督徒,从人本来看,今天的大多弟兄太差劲.

在这篇总结里Shawn打算赞扬这些得着普遍恩惠(common grace)而对上帝作出了回应的非信徒,但也必须批判那些假冒伪善的基督徒,一个弟兄和一个姐妹维持了超过8年的男女朋友关系,当Shawn问他为什么还不结婚,他讲是"上帝还没有预备好",而他所解释的预备是"要有买房子,够办婚礼和家庭支出一年,总共超过20W的人民币",Shawn当时就在思想如果一个基督徒结婚需要用一笔cash来恒量上帝是否预备好,这绝对不是出于圣经的教导,可惜这样一个家伙还是信主很多年被很多人当成"虔诚信徒"的人.Shawn跟老婆的第一次约会Shawn是借钱去的,怕什么,有上帝照着,彪悍的人生不需要解释.

新年已经来到,switchfoot讲"this is a new year and another fight",希望下一次Long Now Fundation的clock响得早一点,最多9次之后我们可以见到那布谷鸟的来到,那是一只不死鸟之火凤凰吗?如果你是hacker你应该明白Shawn在讲什么.

Faith,Suffering and Victory

Suffering come around my life when I accepted Lord Jesus Christ.Why?There is a good sentence could encourging your mind in old hebrew saying (הכל לטובה) and the right pronunciation is "ha-kol le-to-va".It's means that everything will work out in the end in english.You have to suffering while you are trying to build your faith.But your life definitely gonna be changed after you accepted Lord which means D-Day.The V-Day is the New Zion that we can thinking things that cant think which beyond our rational mind.

Some Christians always tell their friends about they guys life are good and no suffering,just because of they guys accepted Lord.This is not good.They guys talk about it but not by Bible "And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.Matt 10:38".

I began to interest myself in Eestern Orthodox Theology recently.Orthodox theology also emphases that suffering is neccessary if you want to build a reformed faith.On the other hand,hum..about my personal experirence.The concept of vampyre(probably people usually to say "vampire") is a little bit of mystery about dark art.ok,forget it!

国庆假日一连7天都是重感冒,几乎待在家都没怎么出门.感谢主让Shawn病倒可以思考平时"太忙"没有来得及思考的问题.思想的结果就是文化使命的难度超越了Shawn以前的认识.

文化使命和福音使命必须绑定在一起做,通称为The Great mission(大使命).圣父上帝在旧约时代与亚伯拉罕,以撒,雅各立约,犹太人从此有了祭祀,所有的祭祀都在预表耶酥基督的到来,新约时代通过圣子上帝耶稣基督钉死十字架然后复活,因凡是信靠耶酥基督的圣父上帝就差遣圣灵上帝进入人的里面.但是这里有一个地方需要注意的是主耶酥基督的救赎不光是针对人的,也是针对自然的,因为创世纪第3章讲因为人的罪性而地受了咒诅.基督徒讲太多狭义的福音(针对非信徒的),但是我们讲广义福音的时候太少(针对基督徒的).

文化使命的目的就是让所有因为罪性而败坏的领域回到那符合圣经标准的"原本"状态.

以前一直很难理解唐崇荣牧师为什么讲他1973年开始选择了最难的侍奉主的道路---通过完备的福音(文化使命和福音使命).这里Shawn从一个基督徒原意做文化使命的角度来分析,以软件行业为例子:
今天的软件大多是专利软件,这剥夺了用户的权利,所以出现了一种与之抗衡的自由软件,但由于自由软件社区的家伙有些人是实用主义者,所以他们退出了把自由上升到论理道德层面来看待的立场,而去选择了一个折中路线---开源软件社区.原意把软件业归回到"原本"样貌的基督徒Shawn相信他们会去选择加入自由软件社区.
ok,那么我们现在来看看基督徒和非信徒的几类人的看法:
基督徒:
1,战友,像今天Mr.Fu这样的弟兄,虽然战友很少但感谢主,先知以利亚在软弱时向上帝报怨讲以色列人把上帝的仆人全部杀死了只剩下他一个人,伟大的先知也只是人,人就有软弱的时候,但上帝讲"国中还有7000人是未向巴力屈膝的",Shawn相信主为我们预备了那7000战友.
2,相信归正神学解释圣经出错概率是最小的弟兄姐妹,虽然他们不会直接帮上忙,但他们会为做文化使命的弟兄姐妹祷告,祷告的力量很强大!
3,反对做文化使命的弟兄姐妹,虽然文化使命是出自圣经但同样有很多基督徒反对,但Shawn仍然把他们看成弟兄姐妹,只要他们相信耶酥基督的救赎,因信称义和三位一体的神这3个基要真理.
4,无所谓的弟兄姐妹,这类人其实有2种,一类是受过高等教育,这里的高等教育Shawn指的不是一定在学校上,包括学习MIT Open Course的家伙们,总之就是具有比较强的理性思考能力的弟兄姐妹,如果他们对文化使命抱着无所谓的态度,Shawn也只能向他们比中指:)还是为他们祷告吧!还有一类是不具备很强理性思考能力的弟兄姐妹,比如农村教会的弟兄姐妹,上帝给了他们多少恩赐他们努力发挥就算荣耀上帝了,这就好比一位清洁工弟兄,只要他信靠主耶酥基督,他只要把地打扫干净他就已经在工作中荣耀上帝了,主会说他是又勤劳又良善的仆人,但如果巴非特没有捐赠380亿美元,那主或许会对他讲"又懒又臭的仆人"

非信徒
1,战友,上帝曾经通过非信徒来提醒Shawn的懒惰,一位非信徒朋友给Shawn解释三位一体,而且比以前遇到的所有弟兄姐妹更详细,Shawn很羞愧~第2周就订阅了奥古斯丁的论三位一体,至少目前做自由软件的战友有很多非信徒,在他们身上Shawn看到了上帝的那一特别的属性---永恒性,这个属性带领人类去追求本质,探索人生意义.
2,被金钱洗脑的家伙们,这类人选择做软件行业不是为了兴趣,更不适为了信仰,一帮被中国教育往头脑里面灌屎的家伙.....求主怜悯........

做文化使命很难,或许在神学,哲学,艺术(绘画和音乐)领域稍微容易一些,至少我们还记得st.Augestine,Pascal,Bach这些人,但有多少人记得William Wilberforth,他当年在政治领域做文化使命奋斗了一身最终解放了黑人奴隶.在查考了历史之后只要有些理性分析能力的人都会得出结论:做文化使命是吃力不讨好.但上帝在地上让非信徒一再提醒我们,基督徒能退缩吗?Brothers and sisters,let's making a better world......

主耶酥基督讲"我就是道路,真理和生命".主没有讲"我是真理"或者"我是生命".Shawn想提醒一下弟兄姐妹如果您决定要做文化使命你一定要去思想主为什么会这样讲?

道路可以看成方法论(Methodology),在西方人眼中methodology这个词有些类似中国传统的"道"的含义,圣父上帝在整个旧约都在预备道路,为以色列人,为犹大人,为全人类的救赎预备道路,从旧约就可以看到在错综复杂的博弈当中仍然彰显上帝的荣耀,圣子上帝耶稣基督在新约时代道成肉身来到世界,他具备完全的神性和人性,主耶酥基督作为真理的本体来不断反证我们所理解和学习到的methodology是否正确,主拣选我们后在我们不断的寻求当中我们不断成长,因为有圣灵上帝的带领,所以我们逐渐的活出了生命,那是越来越像耶稣基督的样式.Shawn的意思不是说非要这么化分三位一体神的工作领域,三个不同的位格但又是一位神,他们时刻同在.

不能像一些极端的灵恩宗派只注重生命,但这三者必须都具备才可能活出耶稣基督的样式.关于methodology这里Shawn列举2个人:
1,St.Augestine圣奥古斯丁,奥古斯丁19岁开始研读哲学和雄辩术,但他信主已经是32岁,他很注重在他的领域里积累基础方法论,奥古斯丁在46岁时完成人生3大作品的第1部---那部读的Shawn三次泪下的忏悔录The Confessions,65岁完成了他一身当中质量最高的论三位一体The Trinity,72岁完成了上帝之城The City of God.

2,Shawn很尊重的洪峰老师,1990年洪峰老师22岁开始通过数学,哲学,计算机科学,信息论,最终以泛系方法论(Pansystems methodology)的"举一泛万,系万归一"的方式历经12年终于在2002年基础方法论构建完成.

方法论是由你每天对待每一件事情的态度而积累而成,你可以抱着hacking的态度去做每一件事情,也可以循规蹈矩的去做.这很难,但值得一试,敌人很强大,但创造那强大敌人的创造天地的主与你同在,你还惧怕什么,Shawn的弟兄姐妹们,主的恩典够我们用!!!

那6天的思考还不止这些,还包括AI的其中一个分支领域---Machine Learning.在拜读了Peter Norvig的作品后再继续谈吧!

最后Shawn有一个申明:如果讲圣经的地方讲错了,请不要给Shawn留情面的直接指出来,但是Shawn只接受归正神学的解经.

自由软件的强大不必多说,作为基督徒的Shawn真的很佩服RMS这样的激发了人们对自由的无限追求,人类的文明发展到今天经过了无数的演变,但仔细刨析仍然可以找到一条细细长流的线索,这线索跟上帝的创造有关,4层模型的本身虽然看起来简单易懂,但这东西要跟每一个追求本质的人的人生意义产生关系并不是一件容易的事情.

btw:关于4层模型简要的介绍一下,依次顺序是(物理<=>数学<=>哲学)<-归正神学(Reform Theology),下3层(物理,数学,哲学)锻造了人们的综合方法论(personnel methodology),但这个综合方法论是否正确需要用归正神学来进行验证.这里Shawn举一个例子,在John Calvin在16世纪创立了归正神学的第一个版本后,无数的科学家和哲学家受到了不同程度的影响,当然方法论的本身也受到了很多影响..........到了20世纪初物理学的研究开始从宏观的牛顿经典理学体系向研究微观世界的变化的量子世界转移,但是物理的模型建立了很多年仍然没有人去建立相应的数学模型,这时计算机科学的灵魂人物去完成了这一使命,他的名字就是Von Neumann,但在这一切发生的过程当中这4个要素都是并行的在发展,神学一直扮演着反证的角色,而物理数学和哲学(这里的哲学不光指苏格拉底传统主义哲学也包括19世纪的科学论理)一直努力互相的影响前进.从programmer的角度简要的讲,物理是硬件(Hardware),数学是软件(software),哲学是方法论(methodology),神学是综合方法论的验证(testing).

当然为什么西方会沿着这条路一直走而且今天的全球化已经影响到了东方?这里面有太多的历史细节比如像st.Augestine的时间观的转变,记得一位英国的历史学家曾经讲过"上帝在历史的每一个点都留下了足迹"

1,Because I used FC8 distro,so I have to modify a file of ppt.h.Use #include "sys/io.h" instead of #include "asm/io.h".

2,you have to modify somes lines from jtag.h,this is my file after modified:

I would like to see blood something after saw my first vampire movie that i didnt remember the name(I was 6 at that time).Thats why the darkness art follow with me for a long time.Even now i still love it but not a enthusiasm anymore.The dark stuff would gave you the spirit to do with some creativity.I was accepted Lord Jesus as my Lord savior about 4 years ago.In the first 2 years,brothers and sisters always told me that leave the devil thing(dark art) as possible as I can.And they were really pray for me.Thank Lord!U did.U help me to seen your property of Creativity by dark art(i mean the vampire thing and metal music).Id like a lot vampire books that written by a woman---Anne Rice.Im very appreciate for what her writting with.I was wondering she became a Christian.That mean someone who went further than me in the dark culture but built in faith to God.wowow....cool things always happend in my life.ciggarattes,metal music,etc are good(creativity) but these should not be the source of my spirit.The ess thing is the Holy Bible!May God bless us!
